This identifies SMJ-2 and SMJ-4 as potential solutions against multidrug-resistant gram-positive bacteria, with SMJ-2 proving more active. SMJ-2 uniquely inhibits respiratory metabolism, disrupts membrane potential, and targets the mevalonate pathway, blocking antioxidant synthesis and enabling pathogen destruction by phagocytic cells.
