Therapeutic neurointerventions @Vanchilingam Advanced Neurology and Stroke hospital, Chennai. Somesh Vanchilingam Arul Babu Sharing a recent case of a 33 year old female with refractory headache, tinnitus and visual disturbances. Evaluated and diagnosed with Idiopathic Intracranial hypertension with pappilledema not improving with acetazolamide. Cerebral venous sinus manometry was done through right IJV showed a pressure gradient of 11 across the stenosis in the transverse sigmoid junction. Venous stenting (protege 9x60) was done achieving normalisation of pressures. Patient woke with absence of tinnitus and relieved of headache. Right radial artery access was used for angiography. IIH is quite prevalent in young women and is often refractory to medical management. Eye symptoms and papilledema are indications for CSF pressure manometry and stenting if pressure gradient is significant. #neurointervention #IIH #venousstenting #radialforneuro
