  • National Pollution Control Day is observed every year on December 2 in India. This day commemorates the tragic Bhopal Gas Tragedy of 1984, where thousands lost their lives due to the leakage of methyl isocyanate gas from a pesticide plant. This disaster remains one of the worst industrial accidents in history, highlighting the devastating effects of environmental negligence. Approximately 40 tons of methyl isocyanate (MIC) gas, along with other chemicals, leaked from storage tank E610 due to the accidental introduction of water into the tank resulting into accident. The official immediate death toll was around 2,259, but unofficial estimates suggest it could have been as high as 10,000 within the first few days. Warren Anderson, the CEO of Union Carbide at the time, was charged with manslaughter but left India before he could be arrested and never returned, passing away in the United States in 2014. The Bhopal Gas Tragedy stands as a stark reminder of the catastrophic potential of industrial accidents when safety is compromised, and it continues to be a case study in industrial safety, corporate responsibility, and environmental justice. Controlling is the only way of preventing it and creating awareness is the only way to educate. Happy National Pollution Control Day and let us save our planet. #Nationalpollutioncontrolday2024 #pollutioncontrol #industrialsafety #industrialpolicy #industrialpollutioncontrol #bhopalgastragedy #saveearth EMYRIS BIOTECH Ziva VediCana

  • Five essential points about epilepsy: Epilepsy involves recurring seizures caused by abnormal electrical activity in the brain, with symptoms ranging from subtle to severe depending on the brain area affected. Causes can be genetic, structural, infectious, or unknown, with some cases linked to family history, brain malformations, previous head injuries, or neurological conditions. Diagnosis typically involves an EEG to detect seizure activity, brain imaging like MRI/CT for structural issues, and a comprehensive medical history review. Treatment varies but includes anti-epileptic drugs (AEDs), surgery for drug-resistant cases, vagus nerve stimulation, ketogenic diet, and lifestyle adjustments like sleep and stress management. Living with epilepsy requires awareness of potential triggers, seizure first aid knowledge among close contacts, and combating social stigma through education and advocacy. #nationalEpilepsyDay #epilepsyawareness #epilepsysupport

  • At the Emyris Foundation, we recognize World Kindness Day not just as an annual event, but as a call to action for our entire community to reflect on the power of compassion in our daily lives. Celebrated globally on November 13th, this day serves as a poignant reminder of how kindness can transform lives, mend divides, and foster a sense of global unity. The foundation's commitment to this day is rooted in our belief that kindness is more than a gesture; it's a fundamental principle that can drive real change. Let's remember the words of Mahatma Gandhi, "The simplest acts of kindness are by far more powerful than a thousand heads bowing in prayer." Let's make kindness not just an action but a lifestyle, transforming the world one kind act at a time. Here at Emyris, we believe in the ripple effect of kindness—where one small act can lead to countless others, creating waves of positive change across communities and beyond. Join us in this celebration, and let's together make kindness the norm, not just for a day, but for life. #worldkindnessday #kindnessmatters #bekind #empathy #simplykinder

  • World Vegan Day is celebrated annually on November 1st dedicated to promoting veganism as a way of life that seeks to exclude, as far as is possible and practicable, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing, or any other purpose. Lower Carbon Footprint: Plant-based diets generally have a lower environmental impact than diets high in animal products. Sustainability: By reducing the demand for animal agriculture, veganism supports more sustainable food production. Global Food Security: If more people adopted plant-based diets, resources like land, water, and food could be more evenly distributed, potentially reducing hunger worldwide. Even though you are not a Vegan Food lover, you can also have impact on Lower Carbon Footprint, Food Security and sustainability. Our objective is to raise awareness and let's our habits have positive Footprint 👣 💜 in Environment. Whether you choose to go vegan or not, the most important thing is to select a diet that supports your overall well-being and health. #WorldVeganDay #veganday #veganfood #veganday2024
