e-TRNL Energy is an Indian start-up company in the energy storage space. Founded by experienced technologists from IIT Bombay and IIT Roorkee, e-TRNL Energy is working on a fundamental battery cell technology that is chemistry agnostic and can adopt all present Li-ion and future Na-ion chemistries. The technology offers battery cells with higher energy density and lower heating compared to its peers, with better pricing economics.

  • A common query we have been receiving is "What exactly is e-TRNL Energy working on?" Starting today, over the next few weeks, we will be sharing some previews of the technology we have been building... To begin with, we are working towards developing a new cell manufacturing technology ground up from scratch. This is a chemistry agnostic cell technology that focuses on maximizing the gains from any given cell chemistry by optimally orienting the electrode architecture. Thus, what we get is a battery cell that is inherently safe from thermal runaways, can charge in 15 minutes, and last longer than the vehicle it is powering... FOR ANY GIVEN CHEMISTRY!!! On the other hand, we have developed the world's most compact and efficient manufacturing process for making these cells... Lesser manufacturing steps, inherently better quality, significant energy savings, and a manufacturing line that breaks the equation for economy of scale!!! With this vision, I actively engage with industry—either by visiting their facilities or inviting them to the IISc campus. This week, I had the privilege of visiting 𝐞-𝐓𝐑𝐍𝐋 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐏𝐯𝐭. 𝐋𝐭𝐝., where I interacted with 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐓𝐎, 𝐂𝐄𝐎, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨-𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬. Our discussions centered around 𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠-𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐮𝐦-𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 and advanced characterization techniques, highlighting the importance of industry-academia partnerships in 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥-𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬. Such collaborations are key to shaping India's future in energy storage and sustainable solutions.     🚀 We're thrilled to share that the Plug and Play Mobility Platform, JLR Open Innovation Launch on 30th January was a resounding success with close to 250+ attendees, including close to 50 corporations and 20+ startups!  🙌 Huge thanks to Thomas Mueller, John Beswick, and Lalitha Indrakanti from JLR for their insights on innovation and startup-corporate collaboration. 🤝 💡  Our two engaging panels explored the power of partnerships and the impact of OEM-startup collaborations on modern mobility, featuring thought leaders like Madhurisha Vippatoori (Schaeffler), Ajay Singh Tomar (Motherson Innovations), Kishore Ravichandran (Plug and Play Tech Center), Latha Chembrakalam (Continental), Vijayanand Samudrala (Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Ltd), Dr. Vikas Prasad (Webasto Group India), Phani Kondepudi (T-Hub), and Lalitha Indrakanti (JLR). But using it correctly is just half the job—storing it properly is what keeps it reliable! Here’s how to do it right: ✅ Ditch the Used Tip! 🗑️ Leaving the tip on? Congratulations, you've just invited cross-contamination to your experiment! 🎉 Yesterday’s chemicals don’t belong in today’s results. One click and it's gone—your data will thank you! 📊 ✅ Store It Vertically! 📏 Pipettes love standing tall! Lying them down lets liquid sneak into the mechanism, leading to corrosion, mold, and ghost readings. Imagine explaining that error to your PI! 😬 ✅ Set to Maximum Volume! 🔄 Before storing, turn the dial to max—it’s like stretching after a long day! This keeps the internal spring relaxed and prevents long-term damage. Otherwise, your 100µL pipette might decide it's feeling like 120µL today—not great for precision! 😵💫 ✅ Avoid Heat & Sunlight! ☀️ Pipettes are not sunbathing enthusiasts! Too much heat or cold can warp internal parts, throwing off accuracy.
