Café Di-Verse is now open and #BrewingInclusivity!   Incubated and launched as part of First American (India)'s CSR project with the American India Foundation to enhance employability and entrepreneurship acumen among #PersonsWithDisabilities in Salem, Cafe di-verse is fully run and operated by 3 candidates who were trained and mentored as part of the project’s first cohort. To celebrate World Environment Day, the First American (India) Facilities and Workplace Services team organized a series of events and initiatives.    ABCD (Anybody Can Draw), a drawing contest to channel creativity while encouraging awareness for employees and their family members, was extremely well received with a whopping 82 participants across different age groups.   The winners across each age group will be presented with Eco-friendly goodies. Participation certificates for everyone will be printed of course on 100% recycled paper!   A Tree Planting Campaign saw the distribution of 375 tree saplings across all FAI campuses. At the Bangalore campus, where the cafeteria generates food waste each month, effective waste segregation at source and a display that shows the amount of food wasted each day continues to raise awareness among employees. Our in-house organic waste converter and grease separator converts food waste into manure, which was distributed to employees for use at home as part of our World Environment Day initiatives. This #WorldEnvironmentDay, we are proud to share our progress in conserving natural resources and promoting sustainable community practices. Our collaborative water conservation and waste management efforts foster a healthier, more resilient environment for future generations. The watershed and environmental conservation projects at Kolar, Hyderabad and Salem implemented by the S M Sehgal Foundation and Bala Vikasa Social Service Society, have significantly improved water storage, boosted agricultural productivity through silt distribution, regenerative horticulture while helping reduce overall water consumption through drip irrigation systems. Additionally, our project teams have educated farmers on scientific irrigation practices to ensure sustainable water usage. Under the waste management project, two 1250-litre capacity composters were installed to transform organic waste into valuable compost and encourage household waste segregation. To further proliferate awareness on waste management, a vibrant mural has been painted on the Bangalore walls with the community's support, urging people to reduce, reuse, and recycle for a cleaner city. These initiatives exemplify First American (India)’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and inspire our community to embrace eco-friendly practices.
