www.firstlease.in Starbucks celebrates 100-store milestone in Mumbai According to a report, the US-based coffee chain Starbucks has celebrated its 100-store milestone in Mumbai, the city where its journey began 12 years ago. Mumbai has been home to many milestones for Starbucks, from the inaugural store at Horniman Circle and the first Starbucks Reserve store in India, to the first metro store at WEH Andheri and the experiential store in Dhanraj Mahal, Colaba, offering sixteen coffee varieties. “Marking our 100th store in Mumbai is more than just a milestone; it is a celebration of the enduring bond we share with this incredible city,” said Sushant Dash, CEO, TATA Starbucks. “This city has allowed us to grow and innovate and as we look to the future, we are excited to continue bringing unique coffee experiences to this great city while honouring the stories that Mumbai has helped us create.” Starbucks entered the Indian market in October 2012 through a 50/50 Joint Venture with Tata Consumer Products Ltd. www.firstlease.in Wagh Bakri Tea to invest Rs 100 cr for setting up a new manufacturing unit in Gujarat According to a report, Ahmedabad-headquartered Wagh Bakri Tea Group will set up a new plant in Gujarat with an investment of over Rs 100 crore to increase its raw material storage capacity and instant tea output. Sanjay Singal, who joined Wagh Bakri as its CEO in August last year, said that the new unit will expand its instant tea and raw material warehouse capacities. The new warehouse will be equipped with Automatic Stock Retrieval System (ASRS), he said. “We are setting up a new manufacturing unit to basically meet our expanded demand, especially in the instant tea category, because convenience is a new driver for our consumers, and for that we are setting up additional capacity,” he said. The new unit will come up at Dakor in Gujarat with an investment of over Rs 100 crore, and will be ready by the third quarter of 2025, he said. The agreement also provides Google the option to lease an additional 200,000 sq ft in the future, potentially increasing the total leased space to 750,000 sq ft. In addition, Google is reportedly in talks for leasing an entire tower in Gurugram. Recently, other major tenants have also secured space at the complex.
