Should you kill your mobile game? Here are 5 signs it’s time to move on: 1️⃣ Unscalable CPI (Cost Per Install) ↳ If CPI remains unreasonably high despite multiple tests, the game may not be scalable. Genre-specific benchmarks matter: Hyper-casual games need lower CPIs, while tycoon games can handle higher ones. If CPI spikes repeatedly and can’t stabilize, it’s time to reassess the project. 2️⃣ Stagnant LTV (Lifetime Value) ↳ LTV is crucial for profitability, and lack of improvement despite multiple tests signals deeper issues. Often tied to poor retention or monetization. If testing doesn’t boost LTV, moving on might be wiser. 3️⃣ Lack of Excitement or Direction ↳ Are you and your team excited to play the game? Lack of enthusiasm or clarity on scaling indicates trouble. Passion drives success—if it’s missing, so is innovation. 4️⃣ Market Saturation ↳ Overcrowded genres without a unique angle rarely succeed. Does your game stand out? If not, differentiation is key. Reassess and refocus if the concept lacks uniqueness. 5️⃣ Weak Player Feedback ↳ Player feedback is the ultimate litmus test. Lack of engagement or positive feedback suggests core design issues. If problems persist after attempts to fix them, consider pivoting. Killing a game is not a failure; it’s a strategic decision to prioritize resources and creativity toward projects with higher potential. Learn from the data, refine your approach, and aim for the next big win. Have you ever faced a tough decision to kill a project? How to get 50%+ IAP revenue in your game? Here are 10 proven tips that helped us to get there: 1. Balance Progression 🎮 ↳ Allow free progression but offer “shortcuts” for purchase. ↳ Players should never feel forced to pay—only incentivized to speed things up or gain premium perks. 2. Tiered Currency & Items 💰 ↳ Provide various packs at different price points (low, mid, high). ↳ Cater to both small spenders and “whales.” Implement Upgrade Dependencies 🔐 ↳ Lock certain upgrades until key milestones are reached (e.g., “Unlock Prestige 2”). ↳ These gates create urgency and encourage strategic spending. Strong Retention Fuels IAP 🔁 ↳ Engaging gameplay loops and daily rewards increase session frequency. ↳ Retained players are far more likely to spend on in-app purchases. Limited-Time Offers ⏰ ↳ Use short-term bundles or holiday sales to create urgency. ↳ Flash deals drive impulse buys and boost conversions. Tailored Price Points 🔎 ↳ A/B test different price tiers across regions or user segments. ↳ Small adjustments in pricing can lead to significant revenue gains. Clear & Intuitive Store Layout 🛒 ↳ Place “recommended deals” prominently. ↳ Embed purchase prompts at users’ pain points (e.g., low energy) for a potential 7% uplift. Respect Player Trust 🤝 ↳ Avoid aggressive or misleading monetization tactics. ↳ Fair models foster loyalty and lead to repeat spending. Virtual Currency & “Best Value” Tags 💲 ↳ Bundle currency packs to create a sense of added value. ↳ Highlight the best deal to guide players toward higher-priced, perceived-value items. Subscriptions 🔔 ↳ Offer weekly/monthly bundles with steady currency or exclusive bonuses. ↳ This provides predictable recurring revenue. What are some methods you have used to boost IAP's? #MobileGaming #GameDev #IAP #FreeToPlay #Monetization

How to elevate Your GameDev Studio in 2025? I've compiled 10 key lessons we learned to help studios avoid our past mistakes and accelerate their path to success. 1. Ensure Team Flexibility 🧑🤝🧑 ↳ Always maintain backups for critical roles throughout the game production process. ↳ Relying on a single individual can cause significant disruptions if they have to leave unexpectedly. 2. Focus on Fewer, Quality Games 🎮 ↳ Rather than spreading resources too thin, focus on creating fewer, high-quality games with larger, dedicated teams. ↳ Over the past year, we've transitioned from producing 2-3 prototypes per week to developing 4-5 games in total, emphasizing quality over quantity. 3. Kill Projects Early ✂️ ↳ Set clear performance thresholds for each project. ↳ If a game doesn’t meet these within a set time, it’s better to cut your losses and move on. 4. Stay Open to Ideas 💡 ↳ Don’t assume you know it all. Dismissing others' ideas too quickly can be a mistake. ↳ Testing team suggestions, even those that seem unconventional, often leads to surprising improvements. Use A/B testing to discover what players truly enjoy. 5. Monitor Competitors 👀 ↳ Watching competitors is crucial to avoid missing unique features you might overlook. ↳ Playing similar games offers inspiration, monetization strategies, and valuable lessons from those already at the stage you’re aiming for. 6. Predict Future Trends 🔮 ↳ Don’t just follow trends—predict future ones. ↳ This strategy helped us succeed post-COVID. At the height of hyper-casual games, we switched to hybrid casual and idle games, anticipating the shift toward quality over quick entertainment. It paid off. 7. Foster Creativity 🎨 ↳ Maintain a work environment that encourages creativity through social events, breaks, and open communication. ↳ A relaxed atmosphere fuels innovation. 8. Attend Industry Events 📅 ↳ Networking at gaming conferences can lead to unexpected opportunities and partnerships. ↳ Our venture into web games and various stores began through attending events like GDC and Gamescom, which have proven to be highly profitable for us. 9. Prioritize Player Feedback 🗣️ ↳ Player feedback is essential post-launch. ↳ We’ve hired a team to analyze daily reviews, helping us identify recurring issues linked to churn points. Reviews are invaluable for improving our games. 10. Create Leaders 🚀 ↳ Create an environment that nurtures leadership by identifying team members with potential and offering opportunities for growth. ↳ Reward those who take on bigger roles and provide support to develop their leadership skills. Would love to hear your thoughts on this! ♻️ Repost this if you found it valuable. #gamedev #Gamedesign #MobileGames #Innovation #Gamingindustry

How to Discover Unique Game Ideas? After publishing 5 titles with over 60M+ downloads, I’ve developed a proven framework to consistently generate unique mobile game ideas. Here are 5 strategies that have worked wonders for me: 1. Gamify Everyday Life • Look at real-life situations and turn them into game themes. • DogLife Simulator came from my experience with a new puppy. • Perfect Lie was inspired by a funny conversation with my cousin. • Observe, gamify, and adapt interactions into playable concepts. 2. Power of “Terrible” Ideas • Some of our biggest hits which have been in global top 10 rankings (9 Months, Idle Human, Trash Tycoon) were initially dismissed as bad ideas. • The weirder the idea, the higher the chance it’s fresh and has lower CPI. • Focus on concepts that are unique and haven’t been seen before. 3. Get Out of Your Bubble • Change your surroundings to spark creativity. • Meet new people and explore different environments. • Fresh perspectives often lead to unique ideas. 4. Stop Copying the Charts • Avoid relying only on top charts for inspiration. • Unique ideas often come from thinking outside the box. • Replicating existing games rarely leads to standout success. 5. Collaborate • Share the basic idea or theme with your team. • Involve the entire team - developers, artists, and animators in brainstorming sessions. • Collective input often makes the concept stronger and more engaging. • Team involvement fosters attachment to the final product and enhances overall creativity in the studio. #GameDevelopment #MobileGames #Creativity #Innovation #GameDesign
