Farewell GDSC CEC, Hello GDG on Campus! As my journey with the GDG on Campus CEC comes to an end, I can’t help but reflect on what an incredible experience it has been. I had the privilege of developing my skills in event management, content writing, and technical expertise. I began as part of the documentation team, where I improved my content writing and documentation skills. A few months later, I transitioned to the tech team to deepen my technical knowledge. It was a rewarding experience to share this knowledge with others through workshops and technical sessions while also contributing to various technical activities of the club. I’m extremely grateful to the entire GDSC CEC team for their support and collaboration throughout this journey, especially to Ashwin R(GDSC CEC Lead), Muhammed Abnas (Creative Content Lead), and Vimal Krishna Rao (Technical Lead), for their unwavering guidance and support. As GDSC CEC transitions to Google Developer Groups (GDG) on Campus, I would like to congratulate Nidhin V Ninan, the new lead, and wish them all the best as they take the community to new heights. It has been a year since I embarked on the journey of leading GDSC CEC with my team. Transitioning into a community leadership role has been a rewarding experience - one that I never anticipated during my school and early college years. Life truly is full of surprises. Now I am ending this role officially and unofficially and moving forward to my next phase. Reflecting on my time at GDSC and as a community lead, here are some valuable lessons I've learned: - Trust yourself and your decisions. - Accept your mistakes and strive for better results in your next endeavour. - Trust your team, and genuinely appreciate their hard work. - Acknowledge that every endeavour has its positives and negatives. Managing both aspects and leveraging them to our advantage is key to growth and success. - Always be open to learning. Perfection is a journey, not a destination. I've had the opportunity to learn a lot, both technically and logically, from and with my club. - Teamwork matters, and so does leadership. As I step down from my role in the Public Relations Subcore team of GDSC CEC, I want to take a moment to reflect on my experience. The GDSC subteam call was the first execom call I encountered after joining college, and initially, I was hesitant. During my first week at college, I watched our seniors take the stage with confidence, leading and guiding us. Their energy and leadership inspired me deeply, and I knew I wanted to offer the same kind of guidance and inspiration to my juniors one day. So, when the opportunity to join the GDSC team came my way, I decided to go for it and take on the challenge. I was invited for an interview, my first interview ever, and I was understandably nervous. After the interview, I anxiously awaited the results. A month passed with no news, and I began to lose hope, thinking perhaps the selected members had been contacted privately. Then, the day finally arrived, and I found out I was chosen to be part of the team. 🎉 I was thrilled and incredibly proud of myself. The real challenge began when I had to work with complete strangers, including seniors. To my surprise, the team was incredibly welcoming. With their support, I got the chance to dive into different aspects of our PR activities, such as managing social media, promoting events, and engaging with our audience. I am especially grateful to our PR lead and my mentor, Nandana Vinod, for believing in me and supporting me whenever I needed it. 🙏 While my contributions may have been modest compared to the larger initiatives led by the core team, I am proud of what I could contribute. I want to thank the entire PR team for making this opportunity such a rewarding experience. A special thank you goes to GDSC CEC Lead, Ashwin R, for his exceptional guidance and leadership throughout the year. I am also deeply grateful to the entire GDSC core team of 2023-24 for being such an amazing team. 🙌 This experience has helped me gain the confidence to take on similar challenges in the future and has helped me become a better version of myself. 💪 I appreciate you taking the time to read about my journey.
