About us

Equal parts creative agency, engineering firm, and consultancy, Grappus has a reputation of doing things differently. We work with brands big and small, far and wide, helping them understand, prototype and deploy a broad range of custom tech. We believe in the power of design and we cringe at bad UX. We follow a design thinking framework – a human-centred approach through which we seek to understand people, challenge assumptions, seek opportunities, redefine strategies, and launch products faster, so we can learn from real user data, not guesswork. Each project is a clean slate, there are no pre-made formulas, no secret sauce, no wizard behind the curtain, we’re just crazy good at what we do. We’re not here to just grow big, make money and win awards. We’re here to crack the process of building truly innovative products from scratch. Products that make people say ‘damn’.

We responded with a thoughtfully designed identity that captures the essence of learning, characterized by a purposeful tone and a library of fresh, offbeat, relatable, yet mischievous characters that bring the brand to life. Each character represents a distinct learner archetype, visually capturing their personalities, interests, and learning styles. From the enthusiastic explorer to the analytical thinker, these expressive 3D characters add a touch of charm and relatability, fostering a sense of connection and inspiration among learners. These quirky humanoids don’t just look great; they’re good listeners, go-getters, uplifting, and charming. In a sea of look-a-likes and sound-a-likes, they allow us to stand out, communicate with a wider range of emotions, take more risks and complement the creative spirit of our learners!

    When we’re not working for our clients, we like to experiment. We make things, break things, tweak things, and try again until we figure out what works and what doesn’t. From the unfinished to the ridiculous to sometimes, the semi-useful — some ideas work out great and some fail completely. It tends to get messy. But that’s kind of the whole point. To give this chaos some structure, we started to get together few times each week to learn, play, and try the untried. A safe space where we turn nascent ideas, hunches about the future, and inside jokes into something real.

In a category defined by unheard voices and invalidated experiences, our goal was to create a confident, pragmatic, yet impactful identity that has gravitas, but also feels bold and contemporary, while capturing the spirit of a progressive culture – current, not commercial – authentic, not faddy. The identity is underpinned by a distinct logotype that acts as a characterful and credible masthead. An elevated yet simple type treatment and an intelligible tone of voice work together to celebrate diversity. The colour palette and its gradient applications, paired with layered blurs, balance strong visual elements with legibility, while simultaneously adding depth to our compositions. The result is a brand that not only stands out, but also expresses the radical spirit of DEI, rallying the community around it!

Meet BB — a nerdy-cool, odd-headed bastard, with an undeniable flair for mischief. We brought this adorable extraterrestrial to life, to manifest the BetBlack brand - a super secretive, underground, crypto gaming platform. First of many. So keep those eyes peeled! 👀

    Imagine living in a painting. Would it be bright and sunny? Would it be blessed with natural beauty? Would it have a charming history? You don't just have to imagine it. You can live it at Millgrove. A perfect blend of luxury, nature, and bespoke living, nestled in the heart of Gurugram. Rooted in the ethos of connecting people with nature, we've shaped an experience that embodies Millgrove’s style of soft, open, and nature-inspired architecture. Our living, breathing, custom brand mark speaks to freshness and growth: featuring slight angles and exaggerated curves for a hand-drawn yet welcoming feel. To capture the distinct character and attention to detail of each artful villa, we produced a thoughtfully crafted collection of unique motifs. These marks are used as the focal point on most compositions to bring a sense of serenity and balance to the brand. Various paper colors, embossed textures, and organic shapes create diverse yet subtle elements to balance the rustic nature of the property and its surroundings. Stay tuned for Part 2!

    We don’t really dwell in the past much - what’s done is done. But in this flood of ‘year-wrapped’ videos, we were feeling a bit left out. So straight from our messy figma archives, we stitched together a choppy recap. Some quick highlights: We created a brand and product for @Millgrove. And a new site for NF10x. We partnered with Jio to build a live 360 player for the IPL (and some other secret stuff). We created a massive product for GreyOrange and helped mCampus rebrand. We worked with WiZR to reimagine the online learning experience and with Humanity Health to build the future of talent acquisition. We worked on a thing with LudoLabs, started on a crypto gaming platform for BetBlack and helped Sitime on another cool thing. We worked with about 30 other amazing clients, but we know you’re busy, so we’ll end it here. It was a jam packed year. We hired a lot of smart people, went on a retreat to the mountains, opened up a new office in Goa, and hit our 10-year mark. We have some very exciting things in the works that we can’t wait to share. But right now we just want to thank the people at Grappus - a truly remarkable bunch. Let’s go, 2024!
