About us

Gyan Museum is a signature concept space that is home to an assortment of unique pieces of art collected over time by Late Mr. Gyan Chand Ji Dhaddha (1940-2004). The museum is constructed to depict a reciprocal recognition of about 3000 years of cultural heritage. Today the museum has in possession over 2500 works of exceptional art both of Indian and foreign origin.

  • Job Title: Assistant Curator Location: Gyan Museum, Jaipur, India Job Summary: The Gyan Museum is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Assistant Curator to assist in the management and development of the museum's collections, exhibitions, and related research and major conservation projects. The ideal candidate will play an essential role in supporting the Curator and working closely with museum staff to ensure the museum's operations and exhibitions align with its mission to preserve and showcase Indian art, culture, and heritage. Key Responsibilities: Collection Management: Assist in cataloging, preserving, and maintaining the museum’s diverse collections, including historical artifacts, textiles, jewelry, manuscripts, and contemporary artworks. Exhibition Development: Assist in researching, planning, and organizing temporary and permanent exhibitions, ensuring the accurate representation of the museum’s vision and themes. Documentation and Research: Conduct detailed research on the museum's collections, collaborating with scholars, historians, and artists to enhance the museum's archival materials and publications. Public Engagement: Support educational programs, and tours related to exhibitions. Help develop engaging content for visitors, including social media, catalogues, and digital media. Conservation: Assist in the ongoing conservation of objects within the collection and work with the curator to ensure proper care, restoration, and preservation. This includes basic knowledge of paper and manuscript conservation techniques, and familiarity with the conservation of metal, stone, and painting materials. Educational Background: Master’s degree in Art History, History, Archaeology, Museology, Heritage Management, or a related field. Specialized knowledge of Indian art and culture, particularly various Conservation Techniques would be an asset.
