🌍 Positive news in the e-fuel energy sector; especially after the recent Northvolt bankruptcy announcement. HYGENCO - The Hydrogen Company has selected Danish technology provider Topsoe as the licensor for its ammonia synthesis technology to convert green hydrogen into ammonia for export. The 1.1 MTPA green #ammonia project will be developed at Tata Steel’s Special Economic Zone Industrial Park in Gopalpur, Odisha, India. Using Topsoe’s DynAMMO™ technology, the plant will be built in three phases, with the first phase expected to be operational by 2027, producing 750 tonnes of green ammonia per day. Topsoe’s technology is designed to handle fluctuations in renewable energy supply, making it highly adaptable. Hygenco’s green ammonia will primarily be exported to European markets, adhering to the EU’s stringent #RFNBO regulations. This project reinforces India’s position as a hub for #efuel (e.g. green hydrogen and ammonia) production. Amit Bansal, Co-Founder and CEO of Hygenco, expressed excitement for the partnership, while Elena Scaltritti, Chief Commercial Officer at Topsoe, highlighted the project's global significance.
