The COHORT 4.0 startups under PRIME Entrepreneurship Meghalaya (Government of Meghalaya) attended a dynamic four-day bootcamp from November 18 to 21. designed to empower entrepreneurs with essential skills to enhance communication, meet legal requirements, and scale their businesses effectively. The program began with Mr. Gaurav Kapoor, Chief Business Officer of IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, leading an engaging session on crafting effective Business Proposals and Detailed Project Reports. Mr. Diviay Chadha, Partner at Singhania & Co. (S&Co.)., followed with an in-depth session on Legal Compliance, offering valuable guidance on navigating regulatory frameworks. On the third day, Mr. Adityya Sen, Programme Head of PRIME Meghalaya, IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, introduced participants to impactful communication strategies tailored to drive business growth. The bootcamp also featured team-building activities, fostering collaboration and a sense of camaraderie among the participants. We are thrilled to announce the launch of our comprehensive report on the Startup Ecosystem in North East India! Unveiled during the recently held workshop in Sikkim, the report was released in the presence of Dr. Chintan Vaishnav, Mission Director of Atal Innovation Mission Official (AIM), NITI Aayog, along with Dr. Subhrangshu Sanyal, CEO of IIMCIP, Mr. Pranjal Konwar (He/Him), the COO of IIMCIP and several government officials, policymakers and entrepreneurs from North East India. The report captures key trends, the gaps in the ecosystem and the challenges faced by the startups in the region, along with crucial recommendations. Further, it also elaborates on a few cases of inspiring entrepreneurs from North East India who, against the odds, are driving impact at both local and national levels. We have been working very closely with the key stakeholders in the North East startup ecosystem for the last 10 years. We had the honour of taking part in a groundbreaking two-day workshop at Gangtok titled 'Building Innovation and Startup Ecosystem for North East'. Organised by NITI Aayog and Atal Innovation Mission Official (AIM) in collaboration with the Planning and Development Department, Government of Sikkim, the event was graced by Shri Tshering Thendup Bhutia, Hon'ble Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Commerce and Industries, Govt. of Sikkim, as the Chief Guest. The event saw an impressive turnout of government officials, policymakers and entrepreneurs from all eight North Eastern states to discuss challenges, share ideas and brainstorm solutions. Also present were Major General K Narayanan, Programme Director (Security and Law), NITI Aayog and Dr. Chintan Vaishnav, Mission Director, Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog. We, at IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, had the privilege of contributing to the dialogue and actions towards revolutionising the startup ecosystem in North East India. Dr. Subhrangshu Sanyal, CEO of IIMCIP, led a key session on the Startup Ecosystem in North East India, offering valuable insights and setting the stage for participating states to share innovative ideas and explore ways to drive an Inter-State Innovation and Entrepreneurship Drive. The workshop served as a platform for dialogue and highlighted actionable outcomes, such as understanding the current policy landscape to support startups, enhancing collaboration between entrepreneurs, policymakers and investors, and developing strategies for economic growth, employment generation and a stronger startup ecosystem.
