ASPIRE-IITB Research Park Hosts IIM Mumbai Visitors! On 12th February, 2025, we had the pleasure of hosting a group of distinguished participants from the Operational Level Training Program organized by the Indian Institute of Management Mumbai (IIM Mumbai). The program, focused on Project Planning, Implementation, Monitoring, and Evaluation of Infrastructure Projects, was held in collaboration with the Infrastructure & Project Monitoring Division (IPMD) of the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation. As part of the program, we had the opportunity to showcase the ASPIRE IITB Research Park Building. The visit provided the IIM Mumbai participants with real-time situations and learning opportunities from the project. It also offered valuable insights into project management through practical experience. TechConnect 2024 - 17th-19th December 2024 overview TechConnect 2024 is an annual event organized by the Dean R&D office of IIT Bombay. It serves as a unique platform that brings together students, faculty, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals. The event provides an excellent opportunity for IIT Bombay faculty members and students to showcase their innovations while facilitating meaningful interactions between industry and academia. The Chief Guest, Dr. Samir Kamat, Secretary - DDR&D and Chairman - Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), along with Prof. Shireesh Kedare, Director, IIT Bombay inaugurated the event. This year, ASPIRE, the IIT Bombay Research Park, was pleased to collaborate with the Office of the Dean R&D and the Industrial Research & Consultancy Centre (IRCC) in supporting this exceptional initiative. In addition, a new initiative has been introduced this year— the “TechConnect Symposium 2024.” This platform allowed various departments and centers to come together and conduct a half-day workshop for industry professionals. It provided an opportunity to showcase their research work, the technologies developed by these departments and centers, and highlights the new programs and initiatives they have introduced. On 11th December 2024, IIT Bombay had the privilege of hosting senior Army officers from the College Of Defence Management. This visit aimed to strengthen collaboration between the defense services and academic innovation. The group visited the IIT Bombay Research Park Foundation-ASPIRE, which is preparing to house R&D-oriented industries. After an insightful presentation on how IITBRPF serves as a platform for fostering collaboration between industry and academia for its member companies, the officers toured the facilities, which are designed to support interdisciplinary industries. Exciting update from the Indo-German Frontiers of Engineering Symposia (INDOGFOE)! The Indo-German collaboration, supported by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India (DST) and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, continues to thrive as an interdisciplinary platform since 2009. This symposium brings together exceptional, early-career engineers and scientists from India and Germany, fostering cross-border knowledge exchange and building valuable networks across industries, universities, and research institutions. This year, Prof. Swaroop Ganguly, Professor-in-Charge, IITB Research Park Foundation co-chaired the Indo-German symposium on engineering, as part of DST's International Cooperation division. The four day event featured a tour to ASPIRE, the IIT Bombay Research Park. It was an enriching experience interacting with the delegates of INDOGFOE.
