Over the course of two days, the symposium brought together diverse expertise to empower innovators and strengthen the local innovation ecosystem. The event featured thought-provoking panel discussions, engaging workshops, and innovative formats like the Technology Showcase and Pitch Presentations, which left a lasting impact on all attendees. A key highlight was the cultural exchange, with 90% of the esteemed speakers visiting Meghalaya for the first time. This provided a rich blend of knowledge-sharing and an appreciation for the state's vibrant culture. The event also made significant contributions to the local economy by supporting local businesses and service providers. Additionally, it showcased the potential for merging education tourism with professional learning, setting a strong precedent for future events in the region. The symposium also marked the beginning of a long-term legacy, with plans for growth and continuity in the coming years. The closing ceremony featured an inspiring address by Shri B.D. Tiwari, IAS, Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya's Elections Department and the Chief Electoral Officer, who emphasised the importance of fostering innovation in the region. A significant milestone was the MOU signing between National Law University Meghalaya and TeCoF, aimed at driving innovation and legal expertise. The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Dr. umeshwari dkhar, recognising the collective efforts that made the symposium a success. The potential of emerging technologies, particularly AI, to reshape the technology transfer landscape in India was also highlighted. Finally, it was noted that while the Northeast region holds immense potential for technology transfer, increasing awareness and knowledge dissemination among startups is essential to unlocking that potential and ensuring their success. The event brought together innovators, policymakers, and industry leaders to discuss pathways for accelerating innovation and fostering entrepreneurship in the North East region of India. The inaugural session featured distinguished speakers who set the tone for the symposium. Prof. Indrajit Dube, Vice Chancellor of NLU Meghalaya, opened the event with a compelling welcome address, outlining its purpose. Ms Deepanwita Chattopadhyay, Chairman and Managing Director of IKP Knowledge Park, delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the importance of technology transfer and commercialisation in driving innovation.
