In recent years, the Malabar Hills forest has deteriorated from a vibrant ecosystem to a neglected area plagued by garbage and encroachment. Limited public access due to misuse and ongoing development posed a risk of complete loss, leaving the area in peril of irreversible environmental harm. The Malabar Hill Forest Trail thus arises out of the urgent need to preserve and restore the forest’s rich ecosystem while creating a new, sustainable interface between nature and the city. #Architecture #Design #SustainableDesign #MalabarHillTrail #UrbanForest #IMKArchitects

The food court at PMR Institute of Medical Sciences (PMRIMS) is designed to embrace natural ventilation. The roof structure is the highlight of the design, featuring a parametric shape with smooth, flowing curves that represent the institution’s forward-thinking approach. Constructed from steel trusses and aluminium-clad panels, the roof extends down to the base of the slopes, ensuring seamless integration with the surrounding landscape and maintaining cohesion in the overall design. #FoodCourt #NaturalVentilation #ParametricDesign #Architecture #IMKArchitects

The entrance for the Skill Centre at Symbiosis University Hospital and Research Centre (SUHRC) in Lavale, Pune, draws inspiration from the stainless steel surgical instruments used in hospitals. A mammoth silver steel bird with wide-open wings welcomes the visitor into the building. A futuristic roof under the sun, beaming brightly and supported by steel pipes, symbolises a contemporary architectural response. The roof sits above the large semicircular staircase that leads to the entrance. #RoofDesign #Architecture #Design #IMKArchitects #SteelConstruction #Institutions #IMKArchitects
