Literally every media house posting about 8000 unplaced students at IITs without doing any research 💯 . . . Media houses don't do research and cause havoc all around. Definitely economic slowdown is affecting hiring but the way it is presented causes stress among Indian parents and students more than anything. As per the old stats, It was 21% in 2023 and in 2022 it was 19%, according to the TeamLease Services report. The percentage has gone up and these are some of the reasons: - Many students go for Higher studies, Civil Services, Own Startups even after registering for placements. Most just never sits for 6 or lower LPA job companies. - Total 10-15 IITs and NITs combined, has been added in last 10 yrs. The placements stats are not like top IITs but their unplaced numbers does contribute to overall count. - AI effect and economic slowdown is real, Companies are hiring less than ever and that too for fresher roles. We are losing human-ness in modern times (since modern education system, industrial age and modern lifestyle came deep into human civilisation, life). Imagination is such an important and powerful mental faculty. Anything above mediocrity, mundane, obvious, routine, uninspiring, uncreative, uninventive, unchallenging.. needs "imagination". We are doing everything possible to kill it, with modern ways of things across the board.
