  • 🌍 Wrapping up an inspiring week at the Global Digital Health Forum 2024 in Nairobi, Kenya! The event brought together diverse stakeholders to tackle some of the most pressing challenges in public health. This year’s forum emphasized the importance of collaboration and actionable innovation. For us at Khushi Baby, it reinforced that the future of digital health lies in balancing bold technological solutions with practical implementation strategies that work in real-world settings. 🚀 Highlights from our team’s participation: Huzaifa Bilal presented on building data-for-action ecosystems during the session “Data Rich to Data-Driven,” sharing insights into how we are driving health impact through data harmonization in government settings. He spotlighted the critical role of integrating technology with clear processes and well-trained personnel to ensure data is actionable and impactful. Pranav Savanur shared insights from our ongoing Climate and Health work in Rajasthan, where we are defining what climate vulnerability means for health outcomes. He emphasized the need to go beyond data analysis—working hand-in-hand with frontline health workers to validate findings, generate recommendations, and empower communities to address hyperlocalized health challenges. ⚡ Another key highlight was Smisha Agarwal (The Center for Global Digital Health Innovation) sharing preliminary findings from the Exemplars in Global Health Program under the main event: Health-Sector Digital Transformation: From Global Policy to Local Impact. It was insightful to learn about digital health maturity across five countries and to see Khushi Baby’s work highlighted as a model for primary care digital transformation at the national level. 💡 Key Insights from the Forum: 💻 Technology alone is not enough: The potential of digital health solutions lies in their adaptability to the unique needs of the communities they aim to serve. 👩⚕️ Empowering frontline workers is critical: The success of health innovations depends on engaging the people who are closest to the ground and ensuring they have the tools and support to succeed. 🤝 Collaboration drives progress: The forum reaffirmed the importance of partnerships—between governments, funders, innovators, and implementers—to create sustainable change at scale. A heartfelt thank you to the event organizers, partners, and all the global health leaders who inspired us throughout the forum. We leave Nairobi more committed than ever to advancing last-mile health solutions that bridge the gap between data, innovation, and community impact. If you have read today's Devex Newswire, you must have encountered Khushi Baby's feature. This story is part of an independent Devex series on what’s working in global health funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. "Frontline first," "demonstrating commitment," and "going to the field" are some of my favorite organizational values at the organization. Learning from the experts, ANM Jyoti Dahma and ASHA Laxmi Devi are huge reasons behind being "a big deal in rural India health care," as Devex puts it. Further reducing the burden of frontline community health workers and moving from a data-rich to a data-driven culture will bring about the change we strive so hard for. Addressing these challenges is at the top of our team's list as we look to grow and scale our efforts in realizing a resilient, data-driven health system where every child, family, and village is supported in achieving happiness and well-being, in other words–𝘒𝘩𝘶𝘴𝘩𝘪. Experience the visual story here: https://lnkd.in/gc8psVt3. Thank you, Sanket Jain, for this impactful reporting on our work.

  • 📢 We’re thrilled to be featured by the Skoll Foundation alongside our partner, ARMMAN, for our efforts in leveraging digital health innovations to strengthen primary healthcare in rural India 🇮🇳. As Ruchit Nagar, our Co-founder and CEO, shared in the feature, Khushi Baby is working to ensure that community health workers are not only equipped with the tools to collect health data but also empowered to translate that data into meaningful action on the ground. It’s not just about reporting numbers — it’s about helping community health workers get the support they need to truly impact their communities. Khushi Baby envisions a future where technology, collaboration, and human-centered design come together — empowering governments, development partners, community health workers, and citizens to work toward a common goal of healthier communities. • "Bharti, like many ASHA workers, is excited about her role in improving community health. Yet, she spends over 50 hours a month on data reporting, hoping that this effort translates into resources that can truly benefit her community." At Khushi Baby, joining the Community Health Impact Coalition is about supporting workers like Bharti. Together, we are addressing two major challenges: lack of access to essential services and the need to better integrate community health workers into formal health systems and ensure that they are salaried, skilled, supervised, and supplied. 📢 As part of the series on 'What's Working in Global Health' funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Devex highlights Khushi Baby’s on-the-ground operations in India. Khushi Baby’s digital tools enable #CHWs to flag high-risk cases early, but real change comes from combining tech with hands-on support. Leela’s journey—from anemia to recovery—shows the critical role our field monitors (who provide supportive supervision) play in ensuring timely care. Scaling impact requires adaptable solutions that fit community needs and address broader system challenges. As we partner with the Rajasthan government, we’re redesigning digital health to work at scale. Yet, more impact is still to be made. Addressing on-the-ground challenges like behavior change, system integration, and consistent follow-up will be key to ensuring these innovations translate into lasting health improvements. • 🌍 Last week in #NewDelhi, we had the privilege of contributing to the Climate and Health Solutions India Conclave, jointly organized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). This impactful two-day event brought together a diverse group of policymakers, experts, and key stakeholders to tackle the pressing challenges at the crossroads of #climatechange and #health in eight Round Table Discussions, aiming to forge practical solutions for climate-resilient health systems. The Roundtable-7, "Digital Technologies and Data for Climate and Health," was moderated by Neeraj Jain from PATH and Nilesh Maheshwari from IQVIA. Among the key highlights was a presentation by Dr. HAYA KHAN, One Health and Infectious Disease Expert at Khushi Baby, closely working with IDSP and NVBDCP, Government of Rajasthan, titled: Leveraging Data for Climate and Health Modelling and Prediction. Key takeaways: 👉 The Community Health Vulnerability Index (CHVI) by Khushi Baby aggregates data from climate, health, socio-economic, and geospatial fields, providing a comprehensive view of how these factors interact. 👉Through CHVI, which is currently in beta, Khushi Baby offers an in-depth vulnerability assessment down to the block level across Rajasthan. 👉The CHVI can be instrumental in implementing the State Action Plan for Climate Change and Human Health (SAPCCHH) by identifying vulnerable areas, aiding in resource allocation, and informing decision-making on public health strategies. 👉This tool is also crucial for managing the risks associated with climate extremes and disasters, allowing states to be proactive in their climate health action plans. 👉CHVI aims to prepare communities for changing environmental conditions by fostering a climate-informed work system, ensuring readiness in managing climate-sensitive health risks. Together, we are building a #ClimateInformed future for health, and multisectoral partnerships are key. 🌿 Thank you to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for inviting us to be part of this critical conversation.
