On February 28, 2025, Lighthouse Delhi hosted the First HR Industry Conclave, a transformative gathering that brought together 25 employers, 10 skilling and NGO partners, 13 Lighthouse alumni, and 75 participants, including youth from Lucknow. The event focused on reshaping youth employment and skill development in India. The conclave featured insightful discussions on the innovative PPP model for skill development, emphasizing partnerships, impact, and empowering youth, especially women. Keynote speaker Dr. Nita Pradhan (Chief, DIADAC) highlighted India’s potential to become a global skill hub, while Dr. Mothi Bharadwaj (Senior Manager, Piramal Foundation) shared valuable insights on driving change through collaboration. Lighthouse Alumni shared their inspiring success stories, showcasing how they have excelled as graphic designers, finance professionals, and more. Discussions revolved around improving training programs, addressing challenges like relocation and soft skills, and bridging the gap between youth and the corporate world. We look forward to organizing more such conclaves, strengthening our mission to create greater opportunities for youth across India. Lighthouse Communities Foundation recently hosted a high-impact Industry HR Conclave in #Bhubaneswar, bringing together HR leaders, placement partners, and key stakeholders for meaningful discussions on workforce development and inclusion. The event provided industry professionals with deeper insights into LCF’s impactful work in Odisha, offering a platform to address industry challenges, share insights, and explore collaborative solutions. Conversations focused on employment opportunities in agriculture and for differently-abled youth, reinforcing the need for inclusive growth. Inspiring alumni stories highlighted the transformative power of mentorship and skill development, while discussions emphasized how LCF’s platforms are evolving into collaborative spaces, fostering connections between academia, industry experts, and skilling partners. With over 30,000 youth placements across India, the Lighthouse team reaffirmed its commitment to inclusivity, including transgender hiring, ensuring no one is left behind. At the Bhosari Lighthouse, we had the privilege of hosting Gaurav Shah, Founder of ISDM, along with ISDM alumni and Anuja Kishore, CEO of Lighthouse, for an insightful session on careers in the social impact sector. Many youth are unaware of the vast opportunities beyond traditional social service. This session aimed to bridge that gap—helping them understand the skills, education, and mindset required to create meaningful change. From planning and teamwork to critical thinking and collaboration, the youth gained valuable insights into what it takes to build a career that drives impact. We were delighted to welcome delegates from our valued donor partner, CompuCom, to the Bibwewadi Lighthouse on February 12, 2025. Sushma Paul, Country Head - CompuCom India, and Virender Lepcha, Director - IT Service Desk at CompuCom, were warmly welcomed by Lighthouse youth and staff. Lighthouse youth led them on a tour and shared how the Lighthouse helps them grow. Over 25 Lighthouse youth shared inspiring stories about how the Lighthouse has shaped their careers and personal growth. Sushma Paul encouraged everyone to see challenges as opportunities. CompuCom has been a proud and valued partner since 2016, supporting underserved youth in Pune through skill development. Over the years, they’ve impacted over 3,000 lives, with 60% of those impacted being girls and women, empowering them to build brighter futures. Compucom India recently visited to one of our Lighthouse Community Center Bibwewadi, Pune. We are incredibly proud of our long-standing partnership with the Lighthouse Community Foundation, a journey we've been a part of since 2016. Together, we've supported the marginalized youth of Pune in their pursuit of skill development for a better livelihood. Over the years, we’ve positively impacted the lives of over 3,000 youth, and we had the privilege of meeting the passionate faculty members who make this all possible. Their dedication to this noble cause is truly inspiring. We also had the opportunity to interact with the students at the center, each with big dreams and aspirations. It was heartwarming to hear many success stories – students who have achieved financial independence, supported their families, and uplifted their lives and communities. What stands out the most is that 60% of those enrolled are girls and women, showing that this initiative is empowering young women to take charge of their futures and make a lasting impact in society.
