Three years ago, Vanderlande India Global Capability Center partnered with Lighthouse Communities Foundation to support the Kasba Peth area in Pune—and what an incredible journey it has been. Together, we have empowered over 1,000 youth by equipping them with skills that open doors to brighter futures. This partnership has been about more than skill development and career guidance. It’s been about witnessing young people grow, build their confidence, and take bold steps toward achieving their dreams. This journey has truly highlighted the power of collaboration in creating opportunities and transforming communities. Lavanya Kailash Bhosle, an 18-year-old second-year B. Com (Bachelor of Commerce) student from Wanowrie, had a dream. A dream of a brighter future, a dream of financial independence. Raised by a single mother, she strived for financial independence. Lavanya knew she had to do more. She encountered Lighthouse during an orientation session at St. Vincent College. The Foundation course ignited her passion, and she eagerly embraced the opportunities it offered. The mock interviews, in particular, boosted her confidence, preparing her for the real world. Upon completing her Foundation course in June 2024, Lavanya's determination only grew stronger. She immediately enrolled in a Logistics course to further enhance her skillset. Her hard work and dedication paid off when she secured a job as a Customer Service Executive at Concentrix. With a monthly salary of ₹21,830, Lavanya's dream of financial independence was becoming a reality. She started her new role on August 20, 2024, bringing immense joy to herself and her family. Thank you, HSBC Technology India, for your invaluable contribution to the Bhawanipeth Lighthouse and for making stories like Lavanya's possible. Lavanya has not only transformed her life but also inspired others to pursue their dreams. Her journey is an inspiration for many young individuals who are eager to break free from the cycle of poverty and build a brighter future. Till date, at Bhawanipeth Lighthouse, through HSBC’s support, we have trained 725 youth in various vocational skill trades and have placed 525 youth into employment. Exciting Milestone Alert! 🎉 We are thrilled to announce that the Bopkhel Lighthouse Connect Center has officially launched its Foundation Batch at Sharadchandra Pawar Arts and Commerce College, Dudulgaon, Pune, on 16th December 2024! This exciting milestone saw 32 passionate and driven youth taking their first step into a transformative journey toward personal growth and career success! During the orientation, we witnessed an overwhelming response as 27 participants expressed a keen interest in skilling programs and job placements, emphasizing their dedication to shaping their futures with skills and opportunities.
