✨ Empowering Young Innovators at RIDE Hack'24 We are pleased to share that our Founder, Ms. Neha Malhotra participated in the inaugural RIDE Hack’24 as a speaker and jury member. The event was an exciting culmination of a hackathon organized by the @RIDE Innovation Hub (Research, Innovation, Development & Entrepreneurship) at JIIT, Noida. This event brought together over 400 students across 140 teams in its initial stages, ultimately narrowing down to the top 60 teams for the final round. The day began with insightful opening remarks from esteemed leaders, including Sh. Manu Bhaskar Gaur Ji (CEO, JUIT), followed by keynote speeches by esteemed guests Ms Neha Malhotra, Ms. Kriti Gupta of Peak XV Partners, and Mr. Raman Chandna of Grip Invest. Each mentor shared their expertise, setting the tone for a day filled with creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. The pitch session saw brilliant young minds presenting their business plans, strategies, and investment requirements to the jury members. The energy, creativity, and innovation displayed by the participants were truly commendable. At MeritX Ventures, we believe in the power of fostering innovation at the grassroots level and equipping the next generation of changemakers with the tools and opportunities they need to succeed. Sharing highlights from Global Bio India 2024! MeritX Ventures is proud to showcase our participation as Investors at the recently held Global Bio India 2024, a seminal event This mega event, organized by BIRAC, in collaboration with the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, brought together over 5,000 stakeholders to celebrate the thriving biotech innovation ecosystem. We thank the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) and the Indian Venture and Alternate Capital Association (IVCA) for inviting our founder Neha Malhotra to an exclusive investor roundtable which brought together some of the most prominent leaders in the biotech and investment sectors to explore the future of biotech in India. Hosted by Amit Pandey (IVCA) and chaired by Shri Vishwajeet Sahay, Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor, Department of Biotechnology, and Dr. Manish Diwan, Head - Biofoundry, BIRAC, the roundtable provided invaluable insights into the biotech sector’s current trajectory. Discussions revolved around scaling biotech startups, bridging funding gaps, and building a thriving ecosystem for biotech innovation. The event saw participation from top investors and industry leaders, including Gaurav Chauhan (MANKIND PHARMA LTD), Rajnish Kapur (IAN Fund), and Rema Subramanian (Ankur Capital), all focused on how biotech can drive sustainability and growth. Neha Malhotra, along with other key figures like Harshit Agarwal (BIORx Venture Advisors Pvt. Ltd.), Venu Gopal Chintada (Sathguru Catalysers), and Mayank Mohapatra (Climate Angels), contributed to pivotal discussions on how to empower biotech startups to commercialize innovations and raise capital between critical milestones. With the growing importance of AI-driven biotech solutions, the event emphasized creating synergies between global and local markets, particularly for startups with breakthrough technologies. It’s been a whirlwind few weeks, navigating a packed schedule of international events where I’ve been honoured to contribute to the global startup dialogue. Starting with GITEX GLOBAL Largest Tech & Startup Show in the World and then diving straight into the India Mobile Congress for the TiE Delhi-NCR #Aspire stage as a speaker and mentor. It has been such a privilege to have moderated an important panel at #IMC2024 with some of the most respected voices in venture capital — Aashish Gupta (IvyCap Ventures Advisors Private Limited ), Ashish Kumar (The Fundamentum Partnership) and Vineet Khurana (Chandigarh Angels Network). This session was a rare, high-value opportunity for founders to hear directly from top investors about what they look for in today’s competitive startup landscape. My esteemed fellow panelists offered powerful insights on everything from the non-negotiables in investment readiness—like founder-market fit and scalable growth models—to common pitfalls founders often overlook, such as rushing to scale without building a solid foundation.
