As we come to the end of 2024, 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐯𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬, a Newsletter that we started in January, one that we never promoted; rather, we handpicked individuals to send it to, turns One! 🎉 It has been a major conversation starter and helped us stay in the hearts and minds of those I knew but could not always personally connect to. Keeping it short, smart and crisp, in line with the Gen-Z attention span, helped. It has created engagement and interest and always boasted an open rate four times that of standard Newsletter services. With that confidence, starting January 2025, we are venturing into another initiative - 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫'𝐬 𝐌𝐢𝐜 - 𝐀 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭 focussing on specific pertinent issues that could raise awareness across the industry on specific topics leading to a safer and sustainable industry. We will be diving deep into issues that are often not talked about. Episode 1 will feature Capt.Indraneel Chari speaking on VDR Analysis, with the experience of having conducted over 300 VDR Audits, focusing on what he learnt about the nuances of the Bridge Team. It was exciting to have been invited to present on #SIRE 2.0 at the Synergy Marine Group Officer's Seminar in Cochin last week. The event was filled with active participation from both seafarers and management personnel. It was a pleasure to meet Capt. Joseph Abraham Pottamkulam, Capt. Nandakumar Unni and Capt Anshul Rajvanshi, and a privilege to get close to the progressive culture run deep within Synergy's DNA, in taking proactive measures on several issues such as Gender equality, new regimes like SIRE 2.0, or alternative fuel strategies. I look back at the last year of my life and feel a profound sense of gratitude. To stand at the podium and present for the INTERTANKO Vetting Forum on Tuesday, the 26th of October 2024 - to face the stalwarts of the tanker industry at the Queen's Hall Room in Queen Elizabeth 2 Hotel, Dubai - to talk about Operationalizing #SIRE 2.0, about how we can impact a global change by upskilling seafarers and transforming SIRE 2.0 into a learning opportunity - that was it! That felt like a culmination of our work over the last few years! The three-day event was strewn with rich professional conversations, discussions on pertinent issues, and heartfelt moments to cherish. I am incredibly fortunate to be supported by an excellent team, Capt. Robert Shane Vaz, Mr. AVINASH HEGDE, Capt. Sartaj Gill, KARAN SINGH and many others back home, while being guided through this journey by people of the likes of Mr John Adams, Capt. Sam Megwa, Simon Robinson, Capt. Phil Davies, Capt.
