Let's get you hired! | Legal Recruitment, BD & Law Firm Management | Career Services & Mentorship for Jobseekers | Legal Marketing Expert

Should you take a low-paying job as a fresher lawyer? One mentee of mine joked on this topic - "beggars can't be choosers, ma'am". I get it. Opportunities limited h, salary offered usse bhi limited. So I have two sides to present to you here, as a recruiter and career coach. ▶️ One - If you have a salary of Rs 15k when you start, the next salary you can get will be between Rs 18k-25k. If you start with Rs 30k, the second job will get you between Rs 35k-40k. Imagine the long-term effects of this. ▶️ Second - You get selected for a job but you reject it because it pays peanuts. What happens next? You may or may not get another opportunity. You may end up having a career gap that negatively impacts your application in the future if you don't. It's a tough choice, right? In the end, it's all about your priorities, but over the last couple of years, there are some factors I strongly urge my mentees to consider before making this decision - 1. Analyze the company culture and talk to ex-employees. You would not want yourself to be burned out or get traumatised by the toxic culture. 2. Look out for how the opportunity can help you grow professionally. Is it able to provide you with valuable skills and experience that can be useful later on? I’ve seen fresh graduates who start in small firms but quickly move up due to the broader responsibilities they handle. One of my mentees transitioned from a boutique office to a top-tier firm after 3.5 years. 3. Does the job allow you to connect with clients, senior lawyers, or other professionals who can open doors? Building the right network can lead to more lucrative opportunities down the line. 4. Always assess if the opportunity aligns with where you see yourself in 5 or 10 years. One of my mentees joined litigation chambers at a low salary, but within 2 years, he was able to transition to a corporation because of his skills in a niche area of law - a role far more financially rewarding. In my opinion, if you are looking for fulfilment through your job and the current role has the potential to do that, salary should not be a factor in your way. We all need to start somewhere, so better to start at a place where you can get valuable and much-needed exposure that can help your career in the long run, right? Hope this post helps! #lawyer #legaljob #advocate #law #hiring Neeti Shastra ________________________________________ 📍 I help lawyers secure their dream jobs. 📍 I assist lawyers and firms in generating high paying leads.

7 ways to get clients as a new lawyer! Finally opening up your own law firm? Looking for ways you can get clients as a new lawyer? The legal field is highly competitive and getting clients, especially if you are a new lawyer can be really challenging. Here are a few ways that can help you get started: 1. References all the way The legal profession runs on referrals, especially in India, although if you are new to the field, you might not have clients, so put the word out to your friends and family members to refer your services wherever possible. 2. Appearances are everything Because of our client's growing popularity on LinkedIn, he received invites for podcasts. webinars and even law schools to talk about his experience. This attracted new clients, as people were able to understand his expertise. 3. Network! I have always emphasised attending industry-specific conferences, such as real estate or tech summits, where legal services are essential. 4. Charge up your website You must ensure that when someone searches for “Best Divorce Lawyer in Mumbai” or “Corporate Lawyer Delhi", your website comes on top! We worked with a Partner of a law firm in Mumbai and saw a 40% increase in LinkedIn DMS by improving the SEO. 5. PR and Blogs This does not yield immediate results, but is impactful anyway. Contributing articles to leading Indian legal blogs or industry journals, and talking about your achievements is a great example of building a positive personal brand. 6. Other professionals can help too Unfortunately, not many lawyers do this, but collaborating with CAs, real estate agents, HR professionals etc can help get referrals! As part of my BD strategy, I helped a lawyer in Delhi set up a referral network with a CA, resulting in a steady stream of corporate tax clients. 7. Content is everything Have you wondered why some lawyers put so much effort into creating videos on IG and YouTube? Posting on LinkedIn? It's because they are profiting out of it. And you can too. I always emphasise brand building as a continuous process that generates high-quality leads. That is the reason why my lawyers get clients for their practice, and stay with me for a longer period! It is courageous to leave the comfort of a job and start your own venture, especially in a competitive field such as law. But do not worry, you have the biggest tool at your disposal, Social Media. Make sure to utilize it to its full potential. What was your experience getting the first few clients when you started? P.S I offer BCI compliant legal marketing services. Let's get you hired! | Legal Recruitment, BD & Law Firm Management | Career Services & Mentorship for Jobseekers | Legal Marketing Expert

The reason why I am seeing Anna’s story all over my feed is because we lawyers know how easily it could have been one of us. As a career coach, I talk to lawyers all the time. Depressed lawyers. Unhappy lawyers. Burnt out lawyers. And if you think this unhappiness is only in litigation, boy, you’re wrong. Reasons may differ, but the work stress in our field is at an all time high. The corporate field is no alien to it. I conversed with an associate at a top tier law firm who spends more than half of his salary on a psychiatrist. Then what can we do? If you have the luxury of it, prioritise your mental health. As a senior, please be kind to your juniors. Please treat your colleagues and employees as humans. Om Shanti 🙏🏻 #lawyer #CA #EY #mentalhealth Neeti Shastra Campaigns by Neeti Shastra ________________________________________ 📍 I help lawyers secure their dream jobs. 📍 I assist lawyers and firms in generating high paying leads.

Connecting Law Firms, Lawyers and Branding | Building Neeti Shastra - Legal Marketing and Law Firm Management | Legal Career Expert

Lawyers - you know you have the expertise, but are you unsure how to showcase it? The first impression is the last, and LinkedIn being the gateway to the professional world - can make or break the first impression of your law firm. Use some of my strategies that have helped build my client's reputation and attracted some great clients for them: 🔺 Choosing the human over the brand: I always recommend working on the Founder's profile, instead of the firm profile. There are numerous reasons why, but the most important for me is the human touch we are able to add to the legal industry. 🔺Keywords on your profile: A good profile is one where your ‘About’ section enlists your areas of expertise, relevant experiences and contact information to make you searchable. 🔺 Relevant connections: Adding your peers is okay, but if you are here to make money, you need to connect with your ideal clients and build long-lasting connections. 🔺 Sharing is caring: Don’t just talk about your services - offer real value. I have seen some lawyers hesitating in sharing free information, but I believe that becoming a trusted resource will naturally draw clients to you. 🔺 Know your clients: You cannot post long PDFs of judgements and expect a non-lawyer to approach you for a case. Your content needs to be understandable to all professionals - not just lawyers. My strategy changes as per your practice area and qualifications. Social media is one thing for an independent litigation lawyer, and entirely different for a corporate law firm. My goal is not only to establish you as an expert but also to get client queries as a result. If this is something you are interested in, let's chat. #lawyer #legalmarketing #advocate #lawfirm #litigation Neeti Shastra Campaigns by Neeti Shastra
