Project Overview This project evaluates the synchronization of four diesel generators at 11 kV and the energization of transformers (300 kVA, 630 kVA, 800 kVA, 1250 kVA) under various scenarios. Challenges include voltage dips and high inrush currents during energization, exceeding acceptable limits. Solutions like soft energization, point-on-wave switching (POW), and pre-magnetizing techniques are proposed to ensure system stability and transformer health.   System Description Existing System: Four plants powered by 11/0.415 kV transformers, relying on diesel generators during emergencies. Proposed System: Diesel generators can supply neighboring plants (1.2 km) via 11 kV cables. Challenges Voltage dips and high inrush currents during transformer energization. Synchronization requires bus voltage, phase angle, and frequency within limits. Key Observations POW: energization of transformer using point-on-wave switching. but the 1250 kVA transformer energization is not possible, also increases costs. Pre-Magnetizing: Effective but requires special transformers, raising costs. Soft Energization: Feasible with operational adjustments on-site, incurring no additional costs.
