🌟 Event Highlights: A Legacy of Impact with Eileen Claudia Akbaraly 🌟 We successfully concluded our insightful panel discussion, "A Legacy of Impact: Sustainability and Empowerment with Eileen Akbaraly," hosted by Pravasi Setu Foundation. Key Takeaways 🎤 Keynote Speaker: Ms. Eileen Claudia Akbaraly (Founder, Made For A Woman): Family values played a pivotal role in shaping her journey and vision. Her work focuses on creating a chain of empowerment—supporting those in need, especially in Madagascar, one of the world’s poorest yet most beautiful nations with unmatched craftsmanship. While profits have grown, Eileen reminded us of the importance of dignity, compassion, and self-worth: "We tend to forget that dignity is most important." She emphasized asking why inequalities exist and challenging norms. For Eileen, fashion is about purpose, not spectacle: “Fashion Week is boring for me.” 🎤 Priyanka Dass (Founder, Label Ekai): Highlighted the role of women-led initiatives and the need for recognition for women artisans, such as the Chippa community, whose work forms the backbone of craftsmanship. 👩🎓 Chairperson: Ms. Sweta Basak (Assistant Professor, Delhi University): Sweta expertly steered the discussion, introducing the panelists and ensuring a seamless and engaging session. Key Reflections: The session was a powerful reminder of the need for compassion, empowerment, and sustainable growth, especially for marginalized communities.
