Strengthening Social Security for India’s Truck Drivers 🚛 Before Project Abhay, only 51.7% of truck drivers had access to social security. Through dedicated efforts, we’ve raised this to 86.2%, ensuring better financial and healthcare protection for over 50,000 drivers in our pilot phase. From e-Shram registrations to Ayushman Bharat & insurance schemes, these linkages provide critical support for drivers and their families. A secure future for them means a stronger foundation for our economy. We’re committed to expanding this impact. Driving Under Pressure: Addressing Mental Health Among Truck Drivers 🚛 33.9% of truck drivers screened during Project Abhay’s health camps reported moderate stress, while 2.9% faced high stress levels—highlighting the urgent need for mental health support in the transport sector. Long hours, isolation, and high-risk working conditions take a toll, affecting both driver well-being and road safety. To address this, dedicated mental health counseling desks were set up at our camps, providing guidance and connecting drivers to resources like Tele-MANAS for ongoing support. Mental health is just as critical as physical health. Let’s drive change where it matters. 🚛💙 #ProjectAbhay #MentalHealthMatters #RoadSafety #DriverWellness Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi Ministry of Road Transport & Highways - India Foresight Foundation

🩺 57.4% of truck drivers tested during Project Abhay’s health camps had elevated blood pressure levels—a silent but serious risk for heart disease and fatigue-related accidents. Through timely screenings, personalized health guidance, and necessary medical support, we are proactively addressing these risks to protect both drivers and everyone on the road. A simple check-up can make a life-changing difference. Healthier drivers, safer highways. 🚛 #ProjectAbhay #DrivingImpact #HealthAndSafety Ministry of Road Transport & Highways - India Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi Foresight Foundation

India: The Diabetes Capital of the World—Truck Drivers at Risk 🔍 18.4% of truck drivers screened at Project Abhay’s health camps had borderline or high blood sugar levels, signaling a heightened risk of diabetes—a disease that can lead to fatigue, vision loss, and long-term health complications if left unchecked. For truck drivers, undiagnosed diabetes isn’t just a health issue—it’s a road safety concern. Irregular schedules, lack of access to healthy food, and high stress levels make them especially vulnerable. Through Project Abhay, we are ensuring early detection, lifestyle counseling, and urgent medical referrals, giving drivers the tools to manage their health before it’s too late. Healthier drivers mean safer roads. Let’s take action where it matters. 🚛 #ProjectAbhay #HealthForAll #SaferHighways #DrivingChange Ministry of Road Transport & Highways - India Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi Foresight Foundation
