The team specializes in robotic technology and works in synergy to continuously engage in the process of learning and effectively applying the acquired knowledge to constantly innovate . Every year, RoboManipal represents the college nationally and internationally in various robotics competitions. The team participates in the biggest robotics competition in the Asia-Pacific region - ABU Robocon, which calls for multiple robots to work in synchrony in a given area to finish a predefined task in a stipulated period of time. Technoxian World Cup is another major competition in which the team participates. Apart from competitions, the members are involved in many personal projects and constantly incubate their unique ideas. Fracktal Works, Xes Automation, Virid, Strange Matter, etc are some of the startups that originated in RoboManipal. The team has also diversified its footprint into the field of research-oriented projects. The Advanced Robotics Research subsystem, the newest addition to our project, deals with new innovative design, fabrication, and manufacturing of Robots. The subsystem has an exclusive punch of sophistication and handles research-level concepts to be applied in collaboration with robotics. Currently, ARR is on track to build a crab bot and an in house motor driver. • ROSCON 24' - Where Ideas Meet Innovation An outstanding chance to connect with other like-minded ROS enthusiasts, from experts to beginners, ROSCON is an event for anyone and everyone to come together, learn, and share their passion in robotics. This year, several of our team members proudly represented Team RoboManipal at ROSCON India 2024, held from December 4th to 6th at the J N Tata Auditorium, IISC, Bangalore. They immersed themselves in all that ROSCON has to offer, gaining a deeper appreciation for ROS and robotics.  ROSCON presented many engaging ways to connect with the vibrant ROS community. The event featured insightful keynote speeches, thought-provoking panels, hands-on workshops, and the opportunity for one-on-one interactions with industry leaders. It was truly an insightful platform to learn more about the pioneers shaping the field! Learning had opportunities galore through the leadership from individuals such as Geoff Biggs, Yadunund Vijay, Angelo Corsaro and several more. Innovative ventures such as @Rigit.io and NMotion, coupled with corporations like Orangewood Labs, staged their workshops and speeches exposing the work being achieved, presented by people actively involved in the robotics industry. From Angelo Corsaro’s session on Zenoh to Sanjana Kumari’s experience with Rigit.io, the schedule was jam-packed with valuable takeaways and inspiring ideas. We thank all the exhibitors who, with their creative implementations of the ROS ecosystem through fascinating projects, gave us a feel of their innovative work. The display of RigBetel Labs, Strider Robotics, Team Vicharaka IISc, and xTerra Robotics, among many others, inspired and motivated the team members by reinforcing the appreciation for boundless possibilities that technology can be and led them to push their own limits of work at RoboManipal. More than just a conference, ROSCON opened the door to a worldwide community of similarly motivated individuals working towards developing this continuously evolving field and in the process, giving our team members an opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with professionals globally. After attending the event, they return with new ideas and commitment to robotics and technology. We would like to extend our warmest appreciation to the organizers and sponsors of ROSCON India 2024 - Open Robotics, Acceleration Robotics, RigBetel Labs, ARTPARK, IISC Bangalore, and NVIDIA for having given us this opportunity and incredible learning experience.
