We are thrilled to announce that Saturday Art Class is hosting its inaugural Symposium, advocating for the vital role of creative expression in education and highlighting its impact on children's wellbeing. The day will feature insightful research paper presentations by various organizations, engaging panel discussions with industry stakeholders, and dedicated networking opportunities uniting funders, thought leaders, NGO leaders, and industry experts. Attendees will also experience the power of art firsthand through interactive workshops led by various non-profits and exhibits showcasing children's collaborative art installations with renowned artists. The Symposium, "Wellbeing Through Creative Expression in Education," will be held on Saturday, April 26th, from 9 AM to 5 PM at the Parle Platina Centre, Mumbai. This unique initiative is supported by Parle Products Pvt. Ltd, Upadhyaya Foundation and InnoVen Capital India . Over the past few weeks, Team SARC has been on the ground, stepping into classrooms, engaging with children and educators, and witnessing the impact of our program firsthand. Across different schools and learning contexts, we have been observing, learning, and refining our approach to deepen our program’s impact on children. 🎨✨ 💡 What’s been happening on the ground? 🔹 Piloting a new climate action lesson plan to create awareness and action. 🔹 Conducting an extensive research survey to explore What do children think about art? 🔹 Engaging with partners and educators to improve classroom experiences. 🔹 Observing our early childhood education program implementation in action. 🔹 Getting inspired by immersing ourselves in thriving classrooms through observational visits. In India, where research on social-emotional learning and arts integration is limited, this collaboration is a step toward building critical evidence and refining our approach. Over the past year, our studies have helped measure impact, improve our program, and contribute useful insights to the education space. Our ongoing field study at Shankarwadi, our model school, is deepening our understanding of how creative expression enhances learning and emotional well-being. Through classroom observations, interviews, and discussions, we’re gathering evidence to shape policies, transform classrooms, and advocate for arts integration in education. With growing support from national and international stakeholders, we are excited continue expanding our impact-driven research that ensures every child has access to meaningful, creative learning experiences.
