GD Goenka University, under the aegis of the Haryana State Higher Education Council and the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), conducted a dedicated campaign to eliminate gender-based violence.
This significant initiative was observed from the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (25th November) to Human Rights Day (10th December), aligning with the global "16 Days of Activism." It emphasised the need for unity against violence and the importance of advocating for a society founded on equality and respect.
As part of the campaign, the University organised a POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Training Workshop on 29th November and a Workshop Against Domestic Violence on 2nd December. Both sessions were led by certified POSH trainers, Dr. Deevanshu Shrivastava, Associate Dean, School of Law, and Dr. Apoorva Dixit, Assistant Professor, School of Law. The Domestic Violence workshop focused on educating female support staff about the Domestic Violence Act, 2005.
In addition, a physical poster drive was conducted across the campus to raise awareness and foster meaningful discussions on this critical issue.
This campaign was organised by the Internal Complaints Committee at GD Goenka University. Together, let’s continue inspiring change and creating safer spaces for all.
