Another important step has been taken in St.Eustatius: The official inauguration of phase 3 of the island's electrification. ☀ 🏝 As a system integrator involved since phase 1, colleagues from SMA Altenso were proud to take part in this event. The PV-Diesel hybrid power plant with battery storage is the largest in the Caribbean to date. It provides 100% renewable energy during the day and stores excess energy in a 16 MWh battery system for continuous power supply. A particular feature is the integration of SMA's advanced Sunny Central Storage solar and battery inverters, which provide black-start capability, grid-forming technology and redundancy services to ensure stability and reliability. Looking ahead, the partners have plans for further expansion of the island's power supply over the next two years. #islanddelectrification hashtag #gridstability

🌞🔋 A ground-mounted photovoltaic plant with a capacity of 12 MWp is currently being built in Gardessen, Germany, complemented by a 4 MW/8 MWh battery storage system. With innovative technology, including three SMA Medium Voltage Power Stations (MVPS), SMA Power Plant Manager and ten SMA DC-DC converters, this project is creating a future-proof energy supply. Animal-powered plant maintenance: Starting in spring, sheep will once again take care of the grass beneath the PV modules, keeping the vegetation neatly trimmed. Supported by Germany's Innovation Tender: The project leverages the opportunities of the funding program to fully exploit flexibility potential and enhance economic viability. Continuing the success story: Gardessen is already the fourth project by Green Energy 3000 featuring TESVOLT AG batteries and SMA components, following Großschirma (Saxony), Maulbeerwalde (Brandenburg), and Schnaittenbach (Bavaria).
