Founders have misunderstood the whole idea of building their brand. (I am talking about personal branding here) - You don't have to post every day to become a thought leader. - You don't have to share "5 tips to XYZ" to build your personal brand. - You don't have to use your pictures with every LinkedIn post to get engagement. Founders who hire agencies often end up making any of the above mistakes, joining the bandwagon of similar-looking founder profiles offering zero value. (we don't make this mistake with our clients) Whether you're building your personal brand on your own or delegating it, here's what you have to keep in mind: - Build in public. Esp if you are an entrepreneur, share your journey & real-time lessons over those cliche "5 tips to grow your XYZ business". - Make sure every post you put has some value or entertainment factor attached. - Don't follow the bandwagon of cringe influencers if you don't relate to them. Who's forcing you? You can still grow without that. - Focus on the quality of your content over quantity. Don't let your voice go to waste. Full-time Ghostwriter: Key responsibilities include: - Ideating and creating content for social media, majorly LinkedIn and X for profiles mainly of founders, entrepreneurs, and CXOs. - Do ideation, creativity, and brainstorming. - Should be highly aware of trends, startup ecosystem, and current affairs. 2. Business Development Executive - Set up email and social media campaigns (LinkedIn and X) for lead generation - Leverage LinkedIn sales navigator filters to generate qualified leads - Work on CRM to nurture leads by automating the bottom of the funnel - Identify potential weaknesses in the overall sales and marketing division - Communicate with clients, make outbound emails to potential customers and follow up on leads 3. Engagement Manager - Take care of client's profile management which includes posting and engagement. - Coordinate with the team and clients on content calendar, DMs, accounts etc. - Focus on growing the social media handles of clients using relevant engagement strategies. We terminated our contract with a client because he wasn't clearing our invoices timely, didn't respect the team members, and had overly high expectations. - It's tough for agency owners/freelancers to let go of clients aka business. But you have to take hard calls for your and your team's sanity. - In business (for me), money is not EVERYTHING. We don't want only clients, we want clients who respect us and our work. - Your business is not just your logo, website, or portfolio, but also the clients you're working with. In the long run, a happy low-paying client gives a better ROI than a toxic high-paying client. If you are a service provider reading this post, this is a reminder for you to please choose your clients wisely. Once your basics are sorted, think beyond money in your business. Signing off MJ

When a child clears a CA exam, it's a celebration in the house. But is it even worth putting in backbreaking efforts to clear these exams when big 4s aka dream companies of every CA are crushing their employees with work pressure? The 26 year old Anna's tragic death due to overwork is not and should not be treated as "just any other news" which fades away in a week. It's a trigger warning to every company who considers work pressure as "normal". While some of the best leaders of our country have been the biggest flagbearers of 70 hour/week work culture, if you look at it from a broader lens, it is doing no good to an employee at least. My urge to everyone in a full-time job: Make your job a part of your life, not your life. Also, it's high time employees going through toxic work culture either raise this issue to their manager/leader or else come forward and address it openly. Let's not take it lightly. They said, Give it a try for six months, & you'll see the change. Well, I did—and here I am 🙈 A year ago, I decided to take on LinkedIn. I joined Sorted Brand with 0 experience (grateful) My first drafts? Rejected. There were so many edits, but each was a lesson in itself. I learned how to research content ideas, turn them into posts,  engage with clients, and manage multiple projects. Although it was overwhelming at times, it taught me the ins and outs of LinkedIn. As I improved my abilities, I started building my personal brand. The inbound leads started coming in, & eventually, took the leap of faith & left my job to pursue freelancing full-time. What I didn’t know was how unpredictable freelancing could be. The first two months were great, but then... clients started saying no.  I found myself surviving on one client, with nothing but faith in my abilities & the content I continued to share. But I didn’t give up. Slowly but surely, I gained more clients, recognition, & opportunities. here I am today with: 🤝15K amazing followers. 🏆 Recognized among the top 2% creators. 🩷A network of friends and supporters. It wasn't always easy. There were moments when I wanted to quit, times of self-doubt, and periods of struggle.  But every challenge taught me something valuable. As I look back on this year, I'm recommitting myself to this platform. To those just starting out, remember that consistency is key. Give it 6 months, and you'll be amazed at the change. Cheers to my 1 year on LinkedIn but 6 months as a freelance LinkedIn ghostwriter. Another year of growth, learning & connection.
