Jai Prakash's Journey: A Story of Determination and Change at Srijan At Srijan, we are deeply committed to providing children from rural areas the opportunities they deserve to transform their lives through education. One such inspiring story is that of Jai Prakash Soni, a young boy from a small village near Jhansi, whose hard work and determination are a true reflection of the spirit we nurture in our program. Jai, a bright student in class 6, was selected for the prestigious GTSE exam last year — a remarkable achievement, especially for someone from his village, where access to quality education is limited. When Jai first joined Srijan, he had to leave behind his family and move 100 kilometers away to study at one of the best English-medium CBSE schools in the area. This was a huge step for Jai, who had previously attended a government Hindi-medium school. The transition was not easy. Jai was nervous and sad to leave his family, but he didn’t let that stop him. Living alone in a new city, he took full responsibility for his own life. He woke up early, cooked his own meals, and remained completely dedicated to his studies. Jai’s commitment and discipline were clear from the start, and it didn’t take long for his teachers and peers to recognize his hard work. Jai’s efforts were recently rewarded when he was named the “Star Student” at his new school, an award presented to him by former Indian cricketer Ashish Nehra. This achievement was not just a recognition of his academic performance but also of his resilience and determination to succeed, despite the challenges he faced. At Srijan, we are proud to have supported Jai in making this transition. Moving from a government Hindi-medium school to an English-medium CBSE school could have been overwhelming for many, but Jai faced this change head-on. With the support of our program, he had the resources and mentorship he needed to thrive. Today, Jai is a shining example of what can happen when a child is given the right guidance and opportunity to excel. Lahro se darkar nauka paar nahi hoti, sahas karne walo ki kabhi haar nahi hoti. Jai's story is proof that no challenge is too great when you have courage, determination, and the right support. At Srijan, we are dedicated to helping students like Jai overcome barriers and realize their full potential. His journey is just beginning, and we are excited to see all that he will achieve. Yesterday, two elderly individuals visited our office to personally thank us for the work we do through Srijan’s Hospital on Wheels (Mobile Ambulance - Aarogya Yan). They were passing through town from their village, and their heartfelt gesture truly made our day. It reminded us how important it is to acknowledge, with grace and gratitude, the impact of the help we receive. Every day, we are learning and becoming more aware of the needs around us. Our mission is to ensure that our services reach those who need them most, especially in rural areas. The journey over the past few years has been inspiring, filled with change, and full of hope.
