  • On September 4, 2024, SRM Team Robocon had the pleasure of hosting Altium® Education at SRMIST for a collaborative and insightful session. We were thrilled to help with interviews featuring the teams that use Altium Designer at SRMIST, including our own, and to connect with Mr. Rea Callender, VP of Altium Education, and Mr. Vikram Poojary, University Relations Manager. It was a fantastic opportunity to discuss innovation in education, share our campus experience, and strengthen our partnership. Thank you, Altium, for the valuable support—looking forward to more exciting projects together! •  Discover the Heart of SRM Team Robocon At SRM Team Robocon, our passion for robotics drives us to excel in every challenge we undertake. Our team is a harmonious blend of specialized domains, each playing a crucial role in tackling the ABU Robocon problem statement. Here’s a glimpse into how we function and bring our innovative ideas to life:  SAMBED (Structural Architecture and Mechanical Body Engineering Division) Our mechanical domain is where it all begins. From understanding problem statements to engaging in team-wide design discussions, we focus on crafting, fabricating, and testing our structures with precision. Our journey is fueled by dedication and a relentless pursuit of excellence. SPACED (Systems Programming Analysis and Computation Engineering Division) In SPACED, we breathe life into our robots through programming. Working with a range of microcontrollers/microprocessors and single-board computers like Arduino, Pi Pico, STM32, and Nvidia Jetson, Raspberry Pi we develop intelligent algorithms for Localization, Mapping, Path Planning, and more. Our goal is to code efficiently and collaboratively for optimal performance.  SIESED (System Integration and Electronics Subsystem Engineering Division) Acting as the bridge between mechanical and programming domains, SIESED focuses on embedded systems design, PCB creation, and signal analysis. Our commitment to precision ensures our robots are powered and sustained effectively. We believe productivity stems from dedication and meticulous effort.  MCSOCD (Media Creation and Social Outreach Corporate Division) We are the voice and face of SRM Team Robocon. Responsible for engaging with partners and sponsors, sharing our journey, and keeping our team’s story vibrant, we excel in content creation, graphic design, video editing, and public relations. Presenting EVA (Enhanced Visitor Assistant), a humanoid robot that seamlessly blends the roles of an autonomous professor and a visitor assistant. - Equipped with advanced AI and automated control systems, EVA utilizes a fine-tuned large language model for natural language processing (NLP) and voice command interactions, responding in both Hindi and English, while also incorporating gestures for enhanced engagement. - Its comprehensive intelligence, driven by a fine tuned large language model, enables EVA to interpret queries, retrieve relevant information, and generate context-specific responses. - EVA's capabilities extend to SLAM for efficient path planning and navigation, object and face detection for personalized interactions, long-lasting battery life for uninterrupted operation, and the Omni Drive system for exceptional maneuverability across diverse terrains. - Additionally, an interactive screen facilitates intuitive touch or voice control, enhancing the user experience. The remarkable EVA project is a testament to the dedicated efforts of Roel Pais, Adheesh Mathur, Danush Ramakrishnan, Harikrishnan M, and Pranav Malakar, who integrated advanced technologies to create a cohesive system. Furthermore, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to SRM University, the Vice Chancellor Muthamizhchelvan Chellamuthu, the Dean of CET Gopal TV, the HOD of EIE JOSELIN RETNA KUMAR, SRM TEAM ROBOCON, DEPARTMENT OF MECHATRONICS ENGINEERING, SRMIST, KATTANKULATHUR and Association Of Mechatronics Engineers (AME). Their invaluable support, belief in the vision behind EVA, and the resources provided were instrumental in bringing this innovative concept to life.
