Reliance Retail-owned hyperlocal search engine Justdial’s net profit jumped 115% to Rs 154.07 Cr in the quarter ended September 30, 2024 (Q2 FY25) from Rs 71.79 Cr in the year-ago quarter. Ratan Tata, the chairman emeritus of Tata Sons, passed away on Wednesday in a Mumbai hospital. He was undergoing treatment in critical condition and was in intensive care in the hospital for the past few days. Artificial intelligence (AI)-based robotics startup Haber has raised Rs 317.2 Cr (about $38 Mn) from new and existing investors in a fresh funding round. In a filing with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Haber said that its board passed a special resolution to raise the sum by issuing Series C compulsorily convertible preference shares (CCPS) to Accel India, Beenext Capital, and Creaegis. Of the total Rs 317.2 Cr funding, Rs 33.4 Cr came from Accel India and INR 83.5 Cr from Beenext Capital, the filing showed. Electric mobility startup Yulu claims to have crossed annual recurring revenue (ARR) of $30 Mn and also turned EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation) positive on the growing demand for quick commerce and food delivery services as well as supportive government policies. Currently, Yulu has a fleet of over 40,000 electric vehicles and is looking to double down on its plan to deploy one lakh EVs by 2025. Starbucks India has emerged as the largest coffee chain in the country as the company left Coffee Cafe Day behind in terms of revenue during the fiscal year ending March 2024. However, the firm barely managed double digit growth in the said fiscal year and at the same time, its losses widened over three-fold. Tata Starbucks’ revenue from operations increased 12.05% to Rs 1,218 crore in FY24 from Rs 1,087 crore in FY23, its standalone annual financial statements filed with the Registrar of Companies (RoC) show. For background, Starbucks India is a joint venture between Starbucks Coffee Company and Tata Consumer Products Limited.
