Mock interviews 🏢 & a Cat-lover’s tale 🐾 A year ago, I was in one of the mock interviews organized by my SVKM's Training & Placement Cell . Everything was going fine until they hit me with *that* question: “Where do you see yourself in 10 years?" While my batchmates were probably cooking up responses like "leading innovative projects" or "being the CEO” or “at your spot sir” my answer was... umm different. Without skipping a beat, I said, "I see myself living in a cozy little cottage, surrounded by nine cats, sipping coffee, and soaking in a pretty view." This was the full-belly. "Are you serious?" look from my interviewer. I could see the disbelief in his eyes. "Nine cats? A cottage? Really?" he probably thought. And while I stood by my dream (because honestly, who doesn’t want a cat-filled life of peace?), I walked out of that room pretty sure I’d never make it past any real interview with an answer like that. Fast forward to today, and I am at a job I absolutely love- Ditto Insurance . Thriving in an environment where I’m encouraged to be myself—quirks and all. No one asked me about my cat dreams during the actual interview, and guess what? It didn’t matter. What mattered was showing up as someone authentic and passionate about what I do. The lesson? Sometimes, the world won’t understand your cottage-and-cat dreams, and that’s okay. Because your journey isn’t about fitting into the perfect mold; it’s about finding the people and places that appreciate your vibe. And as for my nine cats and that cottage? Well, they’re still part of the plan. But for now, I’ll settle for being that "slightly cat-obsessed colleague" who’s living his life :) To everyone chasing their own unconventional goals and giving interviews: Keep at it. Because whether it’s an MNC office, a start-up dream, or a cottage with cats, there’s a place for you out there. And it’ll be worth the wait. (P.S. Guess who just leveled up? I’m officially an Amazonian! 🌟 With over a month under my belt as a Data Center Operations (DCO) Trainee at AWS, I can wholeheartedly say it has been an inspiring adventure. At Amazon, principles like 'Learn and Be Curious' and 'Dive Deep' are at the heart of our daily work, inspiring a culture of exploration and growth. Each day, I’m driven to expand my knowledge and uncover the nuances of our operations. 📚✨ For me, being part of a global tech giant like AWS truly feels like a dream come true. Every day offers new learning opportunities and challenges, making it exciting to know that at Amazon, "it's always Day 1. As Jeff Bezos said, “Day 2 is decline followed by death. It's been almost 3 months since I became a student coordinator at SVKM's Training & Placement Cell. While this crazy experience has sharpened my #PeopleSkills, helped me #multitask, and forced me to be more #organized, I've learned a much more important lesson from Nainesh Koli Sir and Amrita Phillips Ma’am. To #think. With resources at our fingertips, we often rush without pausing to think things through. This isn't a grand message—just a reminder to slow down, reflect, and make more intentional decisions. Sometimes, the power lies in the simplicity of just thinking.

Dawn of a New Phase A year ago, as I was nearing graduation, I felt anxious about the future and wondered, "Can I make it? Do I have what it takes?" Just then SVKM's Training & Placement Cell sent me an email that changed everything - an application opportunity for Deloitte USI, Pune as an Audit Assistant. With hope and confidence in myself, I took the leap. Months of anticipation, growth, and preparation culminated in incredible news: I was hired as an Audit and Assurance Assistant at Deloitte USI Pune! I was stunned, yet thrilled. Today, I embark on this exciting journey, ready to learn, grow, and contribute. Five years of paving my own way, both conventionally and unconventionally, have led to this moment. Joining Deloitte feels like an unexpected dream come true - a chance to work with brilliant minds in one of the world's most prestigious organizations. I'm eager to tackle challenges, push my limits, and make an impact! The past year has been a transformative journey of reflection and resilience-building.
