Life finds a way
About us
Swarga’s Mission is to improve the lives of individuals with Multiple Sclerosis and other neuro-muscular disorders by increasing awareness among the general public and thereby transforming the general attitude in society towards differently-abled individuals. This transformation will increase empathy and improve access to opportunities that are currently inaccessible due to lack of infrastructure and misinterpretations of disabilities among the general public. Our vision is an inclusive society where individuals with MS and other neuro-muscular disorders have access to all the opportunities in order to live a complete life. Improved accessibility, more empathy and comprehensive rehabilitation of individuals with neuro-muscular disorders are imperative to make our vision true. One of our intermediate goals is to establish a comprehensive rehabilitation center where patients are guided by specialists and trained to deal with their specific problems.

Swarga Foundation has been working on this project from August 2023. It took more than a year to bring it to fruition, along with the dedicated team at BGSW CSR. Their guidance at every step has been invaluable in ensuring optimum utilisation of all the resources. This venture also ensures employability for our beneficiaries at Sowkhya Pain Rehab clinic, which is also supported by Bosch!
Behind each cup brewed and meal served at Swag Café lies a story of determination and hope woven by the individuals who work there. ☕️ The café, the first of its kind in Coimbatore, India to be managed by People with Disabilities (PwD), is a result of the collaboration between BGSW #CSR and Swarga Foundation, Coimbatore. Swag Café was conceptualized to empower and promote entrepreneurial skills amongst PwD. This inclusive café was launched by Hon’ble Justice K V Viswanathan, Supreme Court Judge and the first customers at Swag café were Shilpa Deodhar, CSR Head, BGSW and Swarnalatha J, Founder, Swarga Foundation. ✨ The project incorporated 20 days of practical training encompassing aspects like customer interaction, hospitality, billing, quality-led service delivery, and facilities management. ⚙️ This was followed by setting up the commercial equipment and allied infrastructure. 🎗️ Support from BGSW is also extended for operations, supplies, and provisions to give everyone a delightful experience. Swipe to know more about the people who make Swag café a wonderful place to visit. If you’re in Coimbatore, stop by for a warm drink, a snack, and an opportunity to connect with this inspiring team. 29 medals for India in #Paralympics2024 !! #Paralympians work with the same discipline, skill, and determination as any Olympic athlete, yet they receive far less recognition and support from society. Despite the fact that both regular and para-athletes aim for the same targets—whether in shooting, swimming, or any other sport—discrimination persists. Para-athletes face far worse & unique challenges: from managing caregivers, arranging practice courts, and dealing with the physical impact of intense training to navigating basic necessities like eating, drinking, and tolerating extreme weather conditions. Their bodies, often coping with complex health issues like bedsores, bladder, and bowel management, require careful balancing of sports and personal well-being. Financial constraints and societal bias add to their burden, yet their resolve remains unbroken. These athletes prove time and again that talent and perseverance go beyond physical abilities. It's time society views their achievements with the same respect and admiration given to able-bodied athletes. #achievement #ProudIndia #personswithdisabilities #MakingIndiaProud #disabilityinclusion #Paralympics #swargafoundation #atheletelife #paraathlete #DiscriminationAwareness

In the vibrant month of September, as the world transitions from the warmth of summer to the crispness of autumn, we are reminded of the resilience of nature—its ability to adapt, thrive, and transform. Just as the leaves change color, symbolizing the beauty of endurance, so does the journey of NAIK Suresh Kumar Karki of Shibgunj, Jhapa (Nepal). A dedicated soldier who faced a life-altering spinal injury in 2004 during an army operation, Suresh’s spirit was not confined by his circumstances. Like September’s winds that carry the promise of new beginnings, he embraced his challenges and soared beyond them. Now a remarkable wheelchair athlete, Suresh has mastered marathons, swimming, handball, and basketball, earning numerous medals on both national and international stages. As September is a time of festivals, celebrating strength and renewal, so too does Suresh’s story inspire us to find our inner strength and rise above any obstacles in our path. His journey is a testament to the power of the human spirit—unbreakable, ever-adapting, and always moving forward. By featuring Suresh in the I'm Special Calendar of 2024 We salute him.
