Ever wondered what it’s like to wake up in a home where the sky is your ceiling and mountains stretch endlessly before you? Glasshouse Celeste, nestled in Uttarakhand’s Kumaon region, turns that dream into reality with breathtaking mountain views. For Sourabh & Vishala Upadhyay, this wasn’t just a holiday home—it was an escape from city life. After searching across India, they found their haven on a cliffside in Ranikhet, surrounded by towering pines and the calls of Himalayan birds. Designed by Saubhagya Daksh (IDIEQ), the glass pavilion architecture blurs the line between indoors and nature. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the space with sunlight in winter and invite cool mountain breezes in summer. “We didn’t see the sense in staying in the middle of nature and then locking ourselves up in a brick-and-mortar house,” says Sourabh. But Glasshouse Celeste isn’t just about the views—it’s about sustainable living. The home is 90% solar-powered, features a 56,000-litre rainwater harvesting system, and has an organic kitchen garden supplying fresh ingredients for local Kumaoni meals. A reminder that true beauty lies in slowing down, embracing nature, and simply breathing. How far would you go to protect your family? "Sell your house. Pull your kids out of school. Forget about medical treatment". These were the "solutions" thrown at #cancersurvivors #foodbusiness #picklebusiness #WomenEntrepreneurs and her husband when cancer struck them both in 2010—breast cancer for Laveena, mouth cancer for her husband. 💰Their business collapsed. 💰Savings drained. 💰Loans piled up. But Laveena refused to give in. With no money but sheer determination, she turned to a latent skill—food preservation. She joined the Uttar Pradesh Government’s 100-day employment development program on food preservation. In 2011, she launched Laveena’s Tripti Foods from her kitchen, making squashes, pickles, and jams. But she wasn’t alone. At just 14, her son Kinshuk had to grow up fast. From attending exhibitions to going door-to-door selling pickles, he helped his mother turn a small kitchen venture into a thriving business. 💡Impact: 🥭60+ varieties of food products, sold both offline and online 📦Orders travel across Meerut, Noida, Ghaziabad and beyond Starting with just ₹1,500, Laveena built a business that now receives 300+ orders a month and has cleared ₹15 lakh in loans. "Will face the foe’s bullets, but I am free and I shall remain free." These powerful words were spoken by Indian revolutionary Chandra Shekhar Azad. Born on 23 July 1906 to Pandit Sitaram Tiwari and Jagrani Devi, Chandra Shekhar Azad spent his early years in the Bhabra village of Madhya Pradesh’s Jhabua district. Despite his mother’s desire for him to become a Sanskrit scholar, 15-year-old Chandra Shekhar joined Mahatma Gandhi’s Non-Cooperation Movement after being deeply affected by the Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919. A master of disguises, Azad conducted reconnaissance operations, even setting up a hut in Jhansi and teaching local children under the alias of Pandit Harishankar Brahmachari. Azad’s involvement in daring missions, including the Kakori Train Robbery (1925) and the assassination of John Saunders (1928), showcased his commitment to India’s independence. Despite the British intensifying their search operations after these incidents, they were never able to catch the slippery revolutionary. But tragedy loomed. In 1931, the police were tipped off by an informant about a meeting between Azad and his friend Sukhdev Raj. Refusing to surrender, Azad and Sukhdev engaged in a fierce battle with the police. Shot in the thigh, Azad continued fighting until the end. Honouring his vow to never be captured alive, he fired until his last bullet and then took his own life. Chandra Shekhar Azad succumbed at the age of 24, leaving behind a legacy of courage and commitment to the cause of an independent India. Childhood friends Siddhartha Bagri and Dhawal Khullar transformed their passion for EVs into a deep tech startup, Pravaig Dynamics, birthing DEFY — a luxury electric SUV entirely made in India. Their journey began over a decade ago when electric vehicles were still in their infancy. Dissatisfied with existing products, Siddhartha and Dhawal decided that if they ever started a company, it would focus on building electric cars. In 2011, they started Pravaig Dynamics to address issues like lower ownership, expensive repairs, and privacy concerns from cameras. As a bootstrapped company, it undertook different projects to support its research and development. After building the necessary technology and batteries, they created DEFY in just 10 months. The SUV boasts a 500 km range, goes 0–100 kmph in 4.9 seconds, and claims the title of the most sustainable and privacy-respecting electric vehicle worldwide. Pravaig Dynamics has set an ambitious target — to produce a million electric cars by 2027, exporting over half. Want to delve deeper into the journey of these childhood friends turned EV founders?
