On October 7th and 8th, 2024, we conducted a Static Fire Test of our student-researched and developed M-Class and J-Class KNSB-based solid rocket motors, under Project Agni 2.0. We are proud to announce that both tests were successful. This test took place at the Vertical Test Bed located at End Point. The test bed was equipped with a comprehensive data acquisition system, and telemetry data was transmitted throughout the test. Our M-Class motor produced a Total Impulse of 9199.55 N-sec and a Specific Impulse of 129.30 sec. The J-Class motor provided a Total Impulse of 1228.96 N-sec and a Specific Impulse of 130.61 sec. The success of these tests allowed for the collection of valuable data that will prove instrumental in advancing the design and performance of our rocket motors, enabling us to launch rockets propelled by indigenous motors up to an apogee of 10,000 feet. Safety Warning: It's crucial to emphasize that testing rocket motors can be risky, and safety is paramount. For this test, we had all necessary safety measures, including fire brigade, ambulance, and police presence. Everyone maintained a safe distance, and the ignition was conducted remotely to minimize risks. We remain committed to ensuring the safety of all involved in our endeavours. #motortest #thrustmit #spaceportamericacup #esra #aerospace #stem #mit #rocketry #engineering #technology #mahe #manipal

Proudly unveiling the mission patch for our rocket AgniAstra: A blend of mythical inspiration and cutting-edge innovation. The mission patch symbolically represents the revered deity of fire (Agni) that originates from the very beginnings, representing the strength and light it brings as an omnipresent force burning within the core of its existence and signifying the genesis of all things. Astra, by name, is known as a supernatural weapon in Hindu mythology. It is presided over by a specific deity and imbued with spiritual and occult powers that cause its effects. AgniAstra stands as a beacon of strength and precision, ready to ignite and take flight as the first rocket from India to participate in the 30K COTS category at Spaceport America Cup 2024. Just as Agni's flames illuminate the darkness, AgniAstra heralds the dawn of a new era in thrustMIT. . . . #thrustMIT #AgniAstra #MIT #MAHE #rocketry #spaceportamericacup #ESRA #30K #mission #patch #STEM #Aerospace #engineeringeducation #manipal
