This week we've been at the STM Innovation & Integrity Days hosted at the Congress Centre, London WC1. The event offered a wealth of insights into the evolving challenges and solutions in maintaining integrity in scholarly publishing. A fantastic lineup of presenters and speakers shed light on the steps that academic publishers are taking to ensure research integrity across their publications. #ImageIntegrity was a hot topic, with #GenAI tools complicating many of our manipulation-detection processes. A highlight for us was the panel of sleuths who shared their experiences with identifying and tackling bad actors. Research misconduct is a challenge that everyone in the community is grappling with, and we were encouraged to see how deeply key players are thinking about it. The discussions reinforced the importance of collaboration and information-sharing across the industry, and we are looking forward to seeing how they drive actionable change in the near future. It was of course fantastic to catch up with peers and some of our customers including Daniel Ebneter, Stewart Gardiner, Olga Tchivikova, MBA, and Rob O'Donnell. #STMpublishing #ResearchIntegrity #TNQTech

“Certainly, here’s a blog post highlighting the challenges a scholarly publisher could face if authors use GenAI to write research papers...” While Muthukumar Ramalingam didn't use #ChatGPT to write this blog post, he was most curious to see what it did say. How are we addressing AI-generated copy creeping into research content? With a simple, clever script. We have hit a huge milestone in our work towards producing accessible PDF files. For one of our customers, we will now begin producing over 5 million pages of accessible journal content. We are very proud of this achievement! In this blog post, our head of R&D Shanthi Krishnamoorthy writes about everything we are doing in 2024/2025 in our efforts towards accessibility in our production processes and our technology products. We are working with a goal to make all content we produce fully accessible by July 2025, across our customers. "We are evaluating several ideas on making content that we produce for publishers accessible, in a consistent and automated way, on a large scale, and with quality oversight from experts. There is a lot in the pipeline and a lot more to think about." Read more: https://lnkd.in/esGX-7XG #accessibility #accessibilityinpublishing #accessiblecontent #stmpublishing #TNQTech
