Across the globe, Human Rights Defenders work tirelessly to protect human rights and fundamental freedoms, advocate for government transparency and accountability, promote access to justice, and expose corruption, often at great personal risk. On #HumanRightsDay, we celebrate these brave individuals and acknowledge that their efforts are essential to creating a just and equal society – one that respects the human rights and fundamental freedoms of all.

This #HumanRightsDay, we honor the strength, resilience and the contributions of human rights defenders who advocate valiantly for the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms worldwide. This year, we are proud to have partnered with trailblazing organizations and activists to safeguard democracy and promote citizen participation with Red Dot Foundation - Safecity, combat human trafficking and gender-based violence with Vipla Foundation and Bal Raksha Bharat, advocate for disability rights with the Global Sports Mentoring Program alum Vibhas Sen and activist Virali Modi at the 2024 International Purple Fest, Goa, advance LGBTQI+ inclusion with The Queer Muslim Project, and create safer and more inclusive workplaces with MSMEs across western India. We have engaged audiences encompassing young students, public prosecutors, business leaders, artists, and policymakers. Here’s to more meaningful collaborations and collective efforts to create a better, more equal world for all.
