There are moments when the environment we find ourselves in, whether it's personal or professional, does not fully support us to communicate our dreams and build the life we truly desire. And I am talking about some fundamental issues where you do not even have the basic psychological safety to voice your opinion, share your fears, talk about your dreams, and most importantly, make mistakes. What do you do in such situations? How do you get unstuck? Do you change your environment or do you adjust to that environment? What you would do in such situations depends on the story in your head. If your story about yourself is that of a person who deserves the best, then you will change your environment. But if you have low self-worth or if you feel you aren't good enough, then you will alter your core to fit into that environment. How can someone work on changing their internal story to align with their feelings of self-worth and deservingness? - Look at the deep core reasons for feeling inadequate. Seek coaching or therapy to understand yourself better. - Journaling helps in sorting out difficult emotions. - Don't make decisions based solely on logistics. Consider the big picture and manage your logistics accordingly. - Ask for what you want loudly and clearly. Before that, know what you want. - Practice self-empathy as much as you practice empathy towards others. Happy Unlurning!

We all need to unlurn certain beliefs that we hold in our lives. Here is one thing that I want everyone to unlurn: We need to unlurn the belief that our work speaks for itself. Simply giving your best shot is not enough to build credibility. It does not work like that. We all have done this at some stage in our professional life. Talking about your work, the challenges you face and your accomplishments is just as important as delivering a task successfully. This not only helps to build credibility but also gives a sense of accomplishment and boosts self-esteem. Having high self-esteem would encourage you to take on challenging projects, share your opinions in meetings, and negotiate for better compensation.
