Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, in collaboration with IRDRP Trust, successfully organized the National Summit on the Role of CSOs in Drug Use Prevention on Feb 27-28, 2025, in Chennai. Experts from UNODC, NCB, academia, and international resource persons from Spain and Maldives, besides senior NGO functionaries shared insights on drug use prevention, family empowerment, community resilience, and policy interventions. Certificate Course in International Social Work Practice, organised by Department of Social Work, Northern Michigan University, USA, in collaboration with the Department of Social Work, University of Delhi, the Department of Social Work, Central University of Rajasthan (CURAJ), Ajmer, and Vishwa Yuvak Kendra (VYK), Delhi, was successfully inaugurated today in VYK campus. The course is being organised from February 28 to March 10, 2025. Preventing drug addiction is not just important; it’s imperative. Physically, drug addiction can lead to severe health issues, including organ damage, mental disorders, and even death. The psychological toll is equally severe, often leading to depression, anxiety, and other mental health challenges. Socially and economically, addiction can destroy relationships, cause job loss, and result in financial instability; for youth, the stakes are even higher. Keeping this is mind, Vishwa Yuvak Kendra in collaboration with IRDRP Trust and Tagore College of Arts and Science, Chennai organised a Seminar on Role of Youth in Drug Use Prevention on 26 February 2025 at Tagore College of Arts and Science, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Eminent Drug Preventive Expert Shri. Suresh Mariaselvam, Former Advisor of UNDP, UNFPA and DANIDA spoke on the topic and motivated the audience. A state-level Mega Job Fair for persons with disabilities was successfully organized at Advait Kendra, Panchsheel Nagar, Ajmer, by @Rajasthan Mahila Kalyan Mandal (RMKM Ajmer) Chachiyawas, Vishwa Yuvak Kendra (VYK), New Delhi, and Vibha. Over 60 employers participated, conducting interviews for nearly 500 candidates, out of which, around 300 were selected for employment.  Representatives from hotels, resorts, educational institutions, hospitals, restaurants, automobile, and IT companies conducted interviews based on the candidates' skills, interests, and abilities, leading to employment opportunities.
