This is what it all looked like in the beginning (12 years ago!), we were pilot testing our way to create a curriculum about waste. We have come a long way: four curricula later and having established affiliations with over 38.000 schools we reached over 3.9 million kids inspiring them to become WasteLess superheroes. We are excited to invite you to a small online gathering on Wednesday 26th June at 7 pm IST. We will talk about our journey, uncover the hidden numerical code of everything plastic and tell you what effect it has on all of us. #WasteLess #CurriculumCreation #Auroville #EnvironmentalEducation #SustainableFuture #EcoFriendly #SaveThePlanet #PlasticAwareness #EducationalImpact #GreenInitiatives #InspireChange #WasteLessSuperheroes #OnlineGathering #JoinTheMovement #PlanetCare #EnvironmentalImpact #EcoWarriors #SustainableEducation #ClimateAction #EcoCommunity #MakeADifference #GreenHeroes #EnvironmentalStewards #WasteReduction #GreenEducation

We empower children through innovative educational programmes on waste.
About us
WasteLess is a non-profit that develops and distributes educational programmes on waste to children in India. Since 2012 we have created 5 different curriculums that have translated the latest cutting-edge science into innovative classroom materials educating children on the issue of waste and its impact on our health and the environment. We are all bearing witness to the escalating waste crisis and its far-reaching consequences. Rising temperatures, polluted air, dwindling water supplies and increased health risks are all taking a toll on our planet’s resources. The good news: it is in our hands to bring about change. We believe that children are the future; the changemakers of tomorrow. It falls upon us to empower them – by investing in their growth and fostering their voices we Pave a Path for a WasteLess World. What does the impact of WasteLess look like? It looks like beautiful handmade posters showcasing the plastic pollution in our oceans. It sounds like theatre performances, telling the story of sad whales and dying coral reefs. But most of all it is standing tall and speaking loudly, voices beaming with urgency demanding change. Our impact is when the children become the adults, teaching their family and friends about waste pollution and its impact on our environment and health. Like and share if you believe change is possible if we all stand tall, using our voices to share what we know 📣 #WasteLess #PlasticPollution #SaveOurOceans #EnvironmentalImpact #TheatreForChange #SpeakUpForNature #VoiceForThePlanet #FutureGenerations #TeachForChange #EcoAwareness #WasteReduction #SustainableLiving #ProtectOurEnvironment #HealthAndEnvironment #OceanConservation #ClimateAction #StandTall #CommunityChange #TogetherForThePlanet #ActNow

In our ‘Sea Change’ educational programme we introduced three sea creatures, who lead the participating students through the entire curriculum. Smart student starfish, talented teacher turtle and sensible scientist seahorse share their underwater adventures filled with microplastics, its impact on their life and the silly humans who dump plastic and end up eating it, making everyone else as well as themselves sick. The story told in our 5-lesson programme is the output of months long scientific research, numerous silly brainstorming sessions and many hours spend with children, collecting their feedback and insights. We aim to connect and inspire children through different mediums like experiments and storytelling. We believe that our programmes only succeed when we ignite a spark in their heart – a flame that will grow and infect others. Like and share if you agree that environmental education is not about filing heads but connecting to the hearts of the leaders of tomorrow. ❤️ #SayNoToPlastic #PlasticFree #SustainableLiving #MarinePollution #ZeroWaste #EcoFriendly #ProtectOurPlanet #ReduceReuseRecycle #GreenLiving #ClimateAction #EcoWarrior #Sustainability #PlasticPollution #SaveTheOceans #SingleUsePlastic #EnvironmentalAwareness #EarthFriendly #GoGreen #WasteReduction #CircularEconomy #PlanetOverPlastic #EcoConscious #GreenFuture #EndPlasticPollution #SustainableChoices #WasteLess

Dear Friends, Today we are celebrating World Environment Day. This year’s theme is ‘Land restoration, desertification and drought resilience’, a topic we believe is of utmost importance in our ever changing world: water. In March 2018 we witnessed Day Zero in Cape Town, South Africa, where water was being rationed in a highly modern city. Every person had 13 gallons of water per day. Supplies soon ran out. Everyone prayed for rain. We were witnessing a climate disaster. We realised that we had just witnessed the future as scientists estimate that currently 80% of the world’s population is facing significant threats to their water security. This shocking experience pushed us to think about how we can act in our own capacity. The idea of a new educational programme on fresh water was born. Over the past six months we dove deep into the harsh reality of the challenges and possible solutions of our freshwater situation. Based on all the information we have gathered, heard, read, seen and discovered we believe now is the time to act – before all our taps run dry. So, when you reach for your water bottle, when you sip your morning coffee or freshen up with a shower – think of the environment and everything it has given us. A place to live, to nourish and to grow! Let your heart fill up with gratitude to this incredible place we call home! May we all celebrate our environment today and every day! Meet Ribhu, our co-founder. In 2011 he took part in a litter clean up. A young boy came up to him, holding collected pieces of plastic, asking Ribhu ‘and now?’. Ribhu confidently told him that recycling will be the solution, only to learn shortly after that the soiled plastic pieces would end up in landfill. And then Ribhu witnessed the landfill, with all its might. Overwhelmed yet knowing that something needed to be done he joined forces with his sister Chandrah to start WasteLess. Today Ribhu is a National Geographic Explorer, a professional of the captivating art of pester power, taking everyone in his sphere on a journey that leaves one inspired and ready to join him - to Pave a Path for a WasteLess World 🌏
