#Founders building #brands in niche subcultures that they are personally, deeply passionate about are the ones to watch out for 🧐 They truly understand needs and nuances of the category and are well poised to build best in class products/services 👷♂️ The problem though is ~they are often far ahead of the market that takes its own sweet time to grow and very few of them are lucky to have backers who have the patience for slow growth 🐢 But when things do fall in place- Legendary brands are born ❤️

On #Creativebreaks 🖇️🧩 I always keep #Lego bricks on my work desk. Whenever I hit a wall during long strategy discussions, I take a break and try playing with Lego 😅 Building something with your hands isn’t just a great way to break the monotony, it almost feels therapeutic. It rekindles a child like curiosity and inspires me to relook at the problem at hand in a completely new light 🤔 It’s as if the act of sticking those colorful blocks together, unblocks my mental barriers. It’s magical in that sense 🦄 If you are in a job that requires you to constantly make #decisions. Here’s a tip for you: When you are stuck~ try creative distractions. Build a Lego, doodle, play an instrument- do anything that takes you “off-screen” and gets you “hands-on” 👊 That’s the best form of creative rest 🔋

“But I am making so much money” 💰 🙊 Podcaster and author Tim Ferris asked actor and producer BJ Novak : “How do you repeatedly choose the right fork in the road?” ~ alluding to Novak’s charmed career. Novak didn’t hesitate. “Anytime I’m telling myself, ‘but I am making so much money’- that’s a warning sign that I am doing the wrong thing” he said. “Money can always be regenerated” said Novak. “Time and reputation cannot.” Source : 📖 Very Good Copy #books #LifeLessons

#Speakingmymind 2025 seems to be shaping up as the year of going "ALPHA"—or at least pretending to. This trend, particularly among men, appears to draw inspiration from various sources, I guess: the US presidential elections, the actions of a certain billionaire, distasteful comments about work-life balance, dismissive attitudes toward the opposite sex, differing views, or even competitors—all seemingly driven by personal history or professional ambitions. To everyone embracing (or planning to embrace) this mindset, here’s a small request: please don’t knowingly be idiots. What the world truly needs is kindness and decency, balanced with confidence and assertiveness. That’s how we progress and evolve—together—with respect for all the deserving beings around us. Lastly, have a great weekend. Take the time to truly connect with your wife, kids, and loved ones. Hard work is important, but measuring life—or success—through hours is outdated and backward. #MakeADifference #leadership #worklifebalance

#Speakingmymind #longpostalert Steve Jobs once asked John Sculley, "Do you want to sell sugared water for the rest of your life, or do you want to come with me and change the world?" At the time, Sculley was Pepsi’s President. He took the leap, but as we know, things didn’t pan out. Their differences led to Jobs being ousted from the company he built. A decade later, Jobs returned and transformed Apple into the world’s most valuable company. Jobs made legendary hires—like Jony Ive and Tim Cook—but also had his missteps, such as Sculley. While everything eventually came full circle, those setbacks must have been tough in the moment. Recruitment is hard and often thankless. And once the hire is made, the real challenge begins: making it work. A personal backstory: Steve Jobs has always been a hero of mine—not just as a visionary but as a marketer who could rally people around bold, almost impossible ideas. During my college years, I craved experiences beyond campus placements. Taking a leap, I joined Apple in India. That role was an eye-opener—training graduates, selling, and even delivering products to Bengaluru’s top business leaders. Looking back, those choices shaped me in ways I couldn’t have imagined. They taught me to embrace risk, think unconventionally, and invest in myself—lessons that still fuel my entrepreneurial journey. Recruitment isn’t a one-person job. It’s a collaborative effort between candidates, recruiters, HR, leaders, and finance—all working together. At WinnerBrands, one of our core work spans helping marketers - building a supportive community, and connecting the right talent with the right opportunities and growing their careers. In an era where recruitment is often clouded by fake HR stories of tripling a candidates salary, I believe it deserves a more honest and meaningful space. As we step into 2025, I’m excited to share more stories and insights from this journey. Here’s to a year of growth, learning, and collaboration. Happy New Year to everyone! #recruitment #hiring #stevejobs #winnerbrands

On #Learning 🤔 I was in second standard when my father got transferred from Vijayawada to Agra. I didn’t know Hindi at all 😢 I vividly remember how I dreaded going to school every day. For first six months- I could barely converse with any of my classmates, so I was always quiet. One day, the kid sitting next to me bought few comic books to class. I peeked into what he was reading and the pictures immediately caught my attention. It was a “Chacha Chaudhary” comic. I coerced my father to buy me few and I was hooked from the word go. Though the entire script was in Hindi, I could make sense of the broader plot by going through the pictures in a sequence. Hindi Comics became an obsession with me. Beyond Chacha Chaudhary, when I started  reading others - like Nagraj, Super Commando Dhruv, Parmanu, Doga, etc- I realised that I need to learn the language to fully enjoy them 😂 Letter by letter, word by word, sentence by sentence and eventually page by page- I picked up the language at an exponential pace. Only because I wanted to enjoy comics. As I got proficient in reading, I was getting better in conversing too. Strangers in the classroom became friends and unknowingly, a south Indian kid fell in love with Hindi ❤️ From a boy who could barely speak a word of Hindi, I started devouring everything in Hindi-  Movies, lyrics, dialogues, short stories, even my text books 📚 Hindi became my language. Even today, I think in Hindi. But all of this started with Chacha Chaudhary 🙏 If he didn’t pique my curiosity, Hindi would have remained just another thing I had to learn to survive. Important but not necessarily enjoyable.  To be good at anything, you have to find an entry point that excites you. We learn the best when it doesn’t feel like a lesson 🤗

#Productivity The last lap of a #strategy presentation is often the toughest part for me and Suharsh Dikshit. This is where we have to carefully consider everything that’s emerging out of stakeholder interactions and distil them into a set of clear, actionable strategic recommendations for the client 🚀 This phase requires inordinate amount of deliberation and patience. It often takes few weeks spent in day-long discussions and disagreements without putting a single word on a slide. This feels particularly frustrating because we feel stuck and not making any progress🐢 But then, just when you feel like you have hit a wall… everything comes together like disparate pieces of a puzzle coming together to reveal a beautiful picture. 9 out of 10 times- this revelation happens when I am away from my laptop, beyond my working hours- on a long walk, a warm shower, sipping my tea, reading a book or watching my favourite show. Despite trying many times, we haven’t been able to put a process around it. I have come to a conclusion that sometimes you have to let few ideas simmer in your mind. Even when you are engaged in something else, your sub conscious mind continues to work on the problem-incubating and processing all the information, connecting all the dots~ till you are finally hit by that moment of clarity- where everything falls into place and you are off to the races ♥️ Suddenly all the time spent in deliberation and discussions doesn’t feel like a wasted effort. Rather, it feels like an essential rite of passage. Sometimes productivity feels unproductive, but it is not 😀 #LifeLessons
