The statutory and mandatory appointments to be made to these authorities and boards. The functioning and compliance of these bodies in accordance with the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017. The Union of India has been given a deadline to file the affidavit by 6th March 2025. The Mental Healthcare Act, 2017, was enacted to provide a robust framework for mental health care and to ensure that individuals with mental illness have access to services and protection. The Supreme Court has been monitoring the establishment and functioning of the statutory bodies since January 3, 2019. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗜𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: o  The current patchwork of state-specific regulations has caused significant challenges for gaming companies, creating uncertainty and regulatory “spillage.” o  The potential new law could create clear boundaries between gaming and gambling, addressing long-standing legal ambiguities. o  The online gaming sector is facing a decline in foreign investments (over 90% drop in the past two years) due to regulatory confusion. A unified framework could rebuild investor confidence. o  India’s gaming industry, valued at $2.4 billion, has considerable potential for growth. Clear, standardized regulations could enhance its appeal to global investors. o  The lack of a unified legal framework has resulted in the rise of black-market operators and regulatory inefficiencies. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗜𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: o  The app democratizes access to critical economic data, enabling researchers, students, and the general public to access information that was once confined to specialized platforms. o  In a country like India, where data access is essential for informed decision-making, this app aligns with the principles of transparency and public access to government statistics.
