Women in 6G™- 2024 Wrap-Up! I can honestly say that leading Women in 6G and connecting with so many incredible women in our community has been one of the most fulfilling parts of 2024. What started as a small initiative has grown into something truly impactful and meaningful, and I’m filled with pride and gratitude. Here’s a glimpse of what we’ve done this year: - Our community has grown to 314 members strong. - We published the "100 Brilliant and Inspiring Women in 6G– List of 2024." - We spotlighted 80+ research papers co-authored by women researchers and industry professionals. - We conducted 20+ online events including live networking sessions, speaker series, quizzes, and other contests. - We hosted 6 offline events (absolutely free of charge), where 523 female students learned about 6G, its use cases, applications, and the importance of pursuing 6G research. - We hosted the Best Research Paper Award with over 100 submissions. The winner has already been selected and will receive a prize of INR 25,000 along with many other goodies. The awards will be presented at the Women in 6G Summit in March 2025. - We curated several resources, including a compilation of 6G whitepapers and a 6G bookshelf for our members. We’re also seeing other organizations get inspired by our events and launch similar initiatives featuring women working on 6G. That’s the change we aimed for– more events with women speakers, more women in leadership roles, and more women proudly showcasing their work and making their voices heard. What’s coming in 2025? Here’s a sneak peek: - We’re aiming to grow our community to 1,000 members! - The first 6G whitepaper written by 100+ women will be published by our community members (work is already underway). - We’ll publish the "100 Brilliant and Inspiring Women in 6G– List of 2025" in January. Nominations are now open! - We’ll host offline meetups exclusively for our members in 8 cities, starting with Bengaluru on 11th January. - The Women in 6G Summit will be held in March 2025. - We plan to host 40+ online events and 20 offline events in universities. - A podcast featuring top women researchers will be launched soon. - More contests and hiring initiatives will be planned to continue supporting women, especially students, pursuing 6G research. - We’re also building a dedicated platform for our members to connect with each other– it'll be launched soon! While I wear multiple hats and couldn’t dedicate as much time as I wanted to make everything happen this year, I’m committed to dedicating more time and energy to the betterment of this community in 2025. I plan to bring everything listed here to success and beyond, continuing to fuel our community's growth and impact. This first year has proven that even a small idea, fueled by passion and a shared vision, can create a ripple effect of change. I’m beyond grateful for every single person who joined, contributed, and believed in Women in 6G. #Womenin6G
