Zetwerk Manufacturing is on a roll, writes Ayanti Bera in today's Financial Express (India) It’s helping the country’s top corporations build bridges and power plants and manufacture bullet trains and precision goods. The managed network for contract manufacturing now boasts of an order book that is nudging Rs 13,000 crore. And its roster of clients includes blue-chip names like Larsen &Toubro, Siemens, and NTPC Green. Zetwerk’s skills lie in converting the design provided by the client into a product or structure. Once it obtains what is called a design file from the client — essentially the dimensions and materials — it assesses which manufacturers have the technical ability and capacity to do the work. “Accordingly we distribute the orders across the units in a reverse-bidding process on the platform,” explains co-founder and CEO Amrit Acharya.

India has lost a visionary. Dr. Manmohan Singh’s leadership and 1991 economic reforms transformed our nation, empowering industries and individuals to thrive. His back to back stints as India's Prime Minister between 2004 and 2014 pulled millions out of poverty. His legacy inspires us at Zetwerk to build a stronger India. Rest in peace, sir. #ManmohanSingh #Tribute #Visionary

We are delighted to share that ZETWERK raised close to $90 million in equity funding in 2024 and onboarded world-class investors such as Khosla Ventures IndiGo (InterGlobe Aviation Ltd) co-founder Rakesh Gangwal, and Baillie Gifford as we prepare for our near- to mid-term growth in the rapidly evolving manufacturing sector worldwide. We are also thankful to Greenoaks and Avenir our existing investors, for participating in the round. ZETWERK has emerged as one of the go-to manufacturing partners for more than 2,000 customers in India, North America, and Europe as they increasingly prefer ZETWERK’s capabilities to drive trust, reliability, and transparency in their supply chain requirements. As a result, 80-85% of ZETWERK's GMV has come from increased spending by repeat customers who use ZETWERK’s technology and supply chain to drive faster lead times, improved quality, and better visibility into their sourcing requirements. In 2020-21, the company decided to diversify its services beyond India and venture into international markets such as North America. It also added the Consumer business to its portfolio in addition to the Industrials segment. These strategic decisions have provided long-term tailwinds for the Company's global growth. GMV from the Industrials segment, which includes Renewables and Precision Manufacturing, contributed 92% to the total GMV. The International GMV accounted for 21% of the business. The Company secured orders worth ₹12,839 crore (~$1.51 billion) at the group level. #ZETWERK #Manufacturing #SupplyChain #Technology #Innovation #Investment #Funding #Startup #Growth #FutureofManufacturing

In a recent panel discussion organized by PhillipCapital, industry leaders and government officials gathered to explore the future of Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) in India. Josh Foulger, President (Electronics) at ZETWERK, highlighted the potential for India to transition from an EMS 1.0 to an EMS 2.0 model. Mr Foulger emphasized the importance of shifting the focus from "India for India" to "India for the world." He acknowledged the significant strides made in EMS 1.0 over the past decade, creating jobs and establishing a robust domestic industry. However, he stressed the need to address key challenges and capitalize on emerging opportunities. *Key Aspects of EMS 2.0* Foulger identified three critical areas that would shape the future of EMS in India: *A. Reducing Import Dependency:* India currently imports a substantial portion of IT hardware, consumer electronics, and strategic electronic components. By increasing domestic production and fostering a strong local supply chain, India can reduce its reliance on imports and enhance its economic self-sufficiency. *B. Boosting Exports:* While India has made progress in exporting mobile phones, it has significant potential to expand its export markets. By leveraging its skilled workforce, competitive costs, and supportive government policies, India can become a global manufacturing hub for a wide range of electronic products. *C. Developing a Strong Component Ecosystem:* A robust domestic component ecosystem is essential to achieve higher value-addition and reduce dependence on foreign suppliers. By investing in research and development, promoting innovation, and providing incentives to domestic component manufacturers, India can strengthen its position in the global electronics value chain. The panel discussion underscored the immense potential of EMS 2.0 in driving India's economic growth, creating high-skilled jobs, and establishing the country as a global leader in electronics manufacturing. The other panelists who participated in the discussion included: Panelists: Shri S. Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India Mr. Pankaj Mohindroo , Chairman, India Cellular & Electronics Association (ICEA) Mr. Atul Lall, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Dixon Technologies (India) Mr. Debasish Choudhury, Vice President & Business Development & Country Manager, Jabil India Manufacturing Dr. Suraj Rengarajan, Managing Director & Head Semiconductor Products Group (SPG), Applied Materials India Mr. Sanjay Gupta, Chief Development Officer & Global Head of Engineering, L&T Semiconductor Technologies Dr. Dr. Guttal Ravi, Chief Technology Officer & Sr. Vice President - Engineering & Quality, Aequs The session was moderatedr by Mr. Ankush Wadhera, Managing Director & Partner, BCG #IndiaforIndia #IndiafortheWorld #EMS2.0 #MadeinIndia #AtmanirbharBharat #componentmanufacturing #electronicsindustry #techindustry #futureofmanufacturing
