Life at Checkmarx

I am so very thankful for my job Checkmarx . 2024 has probably been my most personally challenging year of my life from a personal perspective. To give some context, in 2022, I was hit by a semi-truck who took a very wrong turn. Checkmarx stood beside me and accommodated me throughout my physical therapy, doctor’s appointments and more. They were there for me. But that was 2 years ago. This year has been even tougher. My mom suffered a massive stroke in May and my company once again supported me by allowing me to care for her while still working (I moved my “home office” to her house so I could tend to her needs in between conference calls and my daily work demands). My brothers and I were able to care for my mom during her last 6 months of life at her home, which was all she ever wanted. She passed a week ago today. Thanksgiving will never be the same. Add a divorce to the mix and the church she called her second home burned on thanksgiving night, making her memorial service the last service ever to be held at her church. 2024 will definitely top the charts as my most challenging year, ever. But Checkmarx has been there, fully supporting me through it all. You have been my rock. My stability, and I am so very grateful. So thank you, so very much, to Scott Walston for your leadership, Lisa Madden for your support and daily guidance, and Kim Kolze Venter for actually working my accounts through my bereavement. Anyone who knows me, knows that I generally try to be humble and don’t naturally self promote. My wife suggested I post this because it’s the first time in two decades of corporate life that I’ve won an award, and that not marking the occasion would be a disservice to those who chose to award it. So thank you Sandeep Johri, Amit Daniel ,Martin Lindsay ,Zack Bentolila, Suzy Worbey and Shimrit Frenkel for the accolade. I’m proud of what we do at Checkmarx and the small part I play in making the magic happen. I can’t wait to see what we build in 2025!

Raise a cup of tea ☕ to celebrate our new London office which officially opened today. Balloons, pastries and typically cool Checkmarx T-shirts were all on show as stiff upper lips were temporarily replaced by big smiles. Based in the heart of the city, it means the leader in AppSec now has an official home in another major capital. I extend my sincerest gratitude to Checkmarx for the extraordinary opportunity to introduce my young daughter to the vibrant world of London's business culture. This invaluable experience allowed her to immerse herself in the vibrant world of London's business culture, gaining firsthand insights into the daily rhythms of office life and the dynamic of business development. While she's just 13 and has a long journey ahead, I strongly support her aspirations to pursue a career in business or politics. Hold on tight, summer is almost over! 😎 Before it ends, I want to share two exciting initiatives we had with the next generation at Checkmarx during the summer break and in preparation for the new school year 💪🏼 Last week, we hosted another fun day for the children of our employees at our offices. We transformed our spaces into activity rooms, the kids filled the halls with laughter, and the sweet smiles on faces can tell how much they enjoyed the various activities. Additionally, every year, we ensure that every child who entering first grade selects their dream backpack from an impressive catalog. We also add a premium stationery kit to give them a great start to their first school year.
