  • A forklift supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring workplace safety and efficiency. Their responsibilities include conducting regular equipment checks, ensuring proper training and certification for operators, and enforcing safety protocols. Additionally, they must be vigilant in identifying and addressing potential hazards in the work environment. By fulfilling these responsibilities, forklift supervisors can help prevent accidents and injuries and maintain a safe and productive workplace. #ForkliftSupervisor #WorkplaceSafety #Responsibility

  • Data from the Bureau of Labour Statistics, Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries (CFOI) shows that 1,030 workers died from occupational injuries involving a confined space from 2011 to 2018.  The CDC, moreover, calculated an average of 92 confined space fatalities per year over a five-year period. Due to their nature, it’s imperative that workers entering them exercise a high degree of caution and take extra steps to ensure their safety. So, do they have any entry and exit plans? While it may seem obvious that a worker must enter and exit the space, doing so isn't always as easy as it seems. It’s important to devise an entry and exit plan for confined spaces. Confined spaces can be difficult to manoeuvre – even just fitting into these spaces can be a challenge in and of itself. So, workers need to have a clear understanding of how they will get in safely and get out once the work is done. Far too many companies emphasize increasing performance and productivity to simply get the work done, failing to adequately train their workers on proper procedures, hazards, and precautions. Workers who receive sufficient training can better identify and control for confined space hazards and to get the job done safely. #safety #data #productivity #training #hazards #animation #safetyanimation

  • Ever wondered why climbers gasp for air at the top of the mountain? It's not just the view that takes their breath away. At high altitudes, the air pressure drops and so does the oxygen concentration. With less oxygen available, our respiratory system has to work harder to keep up. For workers, this can mean shortness of breath, fatigue, and decreased work performance. To compensate, our respiratory system kicks into high gear by breathing faster and deeper. This not only helps to increase oxygen uptake but also helps to eliminate the buildup of carbon dioxide in the body. To combat these effects, it's important to take frequent breaks and stay hydrated. And if you're feeling particularly winded, don't be afraid to take a breather - after all, even the most dedicated workers need to catch their breath every once in a while! #respiratory #altitude #oxygen #hydrated

  • Failure to observe good practices while using fall protection equipment can lead to dangerous outcomes. Other than training on work at height safety, educating workers on the need to thoroughly inspect their fall arrest or fall restraining system is equally important. Now what can the workers consider when assessing the fall equipment risks? 1) Unsafe Anchorage, unsafe or inappropriate fall protection systems. 2) If fall arrest blocks are provided if the worker weighs above 100 kgs 3) If fall arrest blocks are put up on slopes or sludgy, grainy grounds! These are few of the many things that are to be included into the fall arrest assessment process. Despite ensuring that a proper JSA has been carried out, it becomes extremely important for workers to know that performing a self assessment of their fall protection equipment can be a huge life-saver! #safety #work #training #animation #ehs #hse
