Chateau Yering

It's convenient to drive by car. Follow the white road, Maroon*** HWY, and turn left to Victoria RD. Then turn left at Melba HWY and you will be left. It's perfect to avoid the high-speed route for navigation. Hotel facilities feel old, especially the pool is a bit disappointing! The hotel provides a big bed room according to my request! The welcome letters are all in Chinese :) The hotel has a free 3 boxes of instant noodles (although we have not eaten) and three bottles of Italian mineral water! Surprisingly, the four small pieces of chocolate are delicious! All breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at the hotel, full western food! Breakfast is included in the room rate, lunch and dinner for two big ones for nearly $300! The nearest winery is just a 2 minute walk from the hotel. After the hotel reception has received the voucher, you can go there for free 5 kinds of wine! The tasting staff just happened to be a little girl from Shanghai. I was very kind. I bought 6 bottles of wine (can pay Alipay or WeChat). The next day I took a baby to go to the Wildlife Nature Reserve, which is 18 minutes drive from the hotel. !
Sofitel Melbourne on Collins

The Sofitel consistently gets it right. The customer service is excellent especially if you have Club Sofitel access. The staff are attentive and friendly and the service exceeds the other Melbourne hotels within the same price range. Food in the club is good and there is a good happy hour. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable, and each room has a fantastic view over Melbourne and its surrounds. Close to restaurants and shops. We definitely keep coming back to the Sofitel because it’s the best. I just hope they don’t abandon the nightly turn down service. There didn’t seem to be one this time and arriving into a darkened room upon checking in wasn’t ideal. Otherwise 10/10.
The Kinson

St Kilda Road
The Kinson is a great place to stay. Very big room, supersized bed with really good pillows and linens; dining area, decent desk and chair, sofa, big TV, small but well equipped kitchenette, big fridge and freezer, decent bathroom with power shower and a jacuzzi. Small balcony with couple of chairs and table. All in all, a great hub for work and, being someone who walks everywhere, also well positioned for walking to the beach and all the bars and fun in Fitzroy / Aklam / St Kilda Beach (40 mins), the Botanical Gardens (15 mins), Shrine of Remembrance(10 mins tops), Fawkner Park is 2 mins away, Albert Park and Lake 5-10 mins. Even all the way to Fed Square and Bourke is 45 mins. Taxis easy. And the tram is round the corner. Only negative is The Kinson has no food service or bar, no gym and no pool. There are no major supermarkets close by, and limited eateries and bars at night, but you just go to the busier places and then have a peaceful place to stay after! I will return, but will request a room with a view rather than looking into the rooms of the apartment block next door, but you can see the park from the balcony! Bit noisy from the outside - the double glazing isn’t perfect - but it was the F1 build up! Nothing some earplugs doesn’t take care of. No corridor noise, which is a big plus for me. Staff are really amazing. Couldn’t do enough to help, advise and were always very happy. Milana (hope that’s spelled right) was a standout, but everyone seemed very happy in their job. Didn’t take any pictures of the room, but it was exactly as described and portrayed on their website.
Crown Metropol Melbourne

A two day getaway in the King Loft left me wishing I could stay longer. The staff at Crown Metropol made me feel welcome and were nothing but professional, friendly and accomodating. It really was a home away from home, a bed so comfortable that a sleep in didn't feel wrong. Gifted a VIP welcome of French champagne and chocolates that continued to another surprise of an immaculately turned down room and more treats the next day left all of Us smiling. The extras and attention to detail was first class with the added benefits of amazing views over Melbourne in a luxurious apartment that my family didn’t want to leave. I haven’t even mentioned the pool and day spa, or breakfast at Mr Hives! Thank you Crown Metropol ♥️♥️
InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto

Stayed here as a Diamond Ambassador in an iconic suite - Check in experience was great, warm welcome, benefits acknowledged and welcome drink provided. Amazing room, ridiculous amount of space, comfortable bed, great little office/working area. Unfortunately, the general level of service/care factor is lacking especially when staying in a room costing over 1k a night! One of my complimentary water bottles was open/used and about half empty, yuck. Later that day I wanted to use my $25 credit on the minibar 200ml bottle of gin (which is listed as inclusive of 4 mixers). Gin was missing from the mini bar I couldn't find it. Called down to reception to ask if it was by request, they assured me it should be there and would send someone up. Waited 2 hours and no one came which frustrated me as I was waiting so called down again and was assured someone was on the way. Someone did arrive with a huge bag full of everything except the gin. When questioned didn't seem to know what I was talking about, I had to point to it on the minibar menu and was met with a very confused expression, he left. Then about 30 minutes later a different person arrives with the gin bottle, success. However upon checkout there were a bunch of mini bar items charged which I hadn't consumed, and in fact were not even missing. I hate having to have that conversation but after only 3 words they were ”happy to remove them” which makes me think this isn't an uncommon occurrence. I later noticed that the mixers were charged as well where as they should have been included with the gin purchase cost, but I couldn't be bothered wasting my time to try and sort it out. Club lounge service was attentive but did fill up and get quite busy in the evenings however my drink was always topped up and the staff there were friendly and engaging. Temperature control seems non-existent in the room and I'm convinced it makes no difference what you set it to. I had my do not disturb on until mid morning, so as I was leaving for the day dropped by reception and said I may have missed housekeeping and could they have someone make up the room. Arrived back a few hours later and it hadn't been done. All up a real mixed bag here, but can't help feel my simple requests were a bother and inconvenience.

Beautiful view. Asked for higher floor room and they did happily did so. Arrived and asked if I could go up to my room for 15 and get changed and if it was okay to leavey car out the front whilst doing so and they happily let me do so free of charge. Valet parking is available at the concierge very nice people. I needed my car numerous times during stay so I opted out of valet parking and just used the south Wharf car park. When leaving the next day I forgot to get my parking ticket scanned at the hotel and went o leave and the car park was trying to charge me one hundred and 12 dollars. So I re parked my car (it was the far end of the car park so a 5 to 10 minute walk back to hotel. I told the young gentlemen my dilemma and instead of scanning my parking ticket he on his own accord walked with me to my car and let me out free of charge. Highly recommended hotel.
