Very new hotel with a very nice beach and very thoughtful entertainment Programm. Food (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) is included and very delicious with the right amount of different things. The bar is a little expensive and not all drinks were available but overall very good menu there. Some areas are still in built up and not available yet but probably within the next weeks. Highly recommended!

Good food and good service

It was off season and on a weekday when I visited. There were only 2 couples during our stay so we had the whole resort to ourselves. The room was clean, aircon was cold, water pressure was good and the resort well maintained. Food taste normal but the portion was big. Staffs were friendly. I especially like the included evening visit to the fishing village at the other side of the island. It was a peaceful and lively village.

Not much facilities in the resort but simplicity may be someone’s favourite. You can go cycling and join other recreational water activities. Or simply walk along the shore and appreciate the sunset. I like visiting the local villages behind the resort. The schedule is a bit loose and there’s a room for improvement in respect of time management by the resort.

The big problem that the hotel has is the plastic and garbage surrounding the island. It would be a paradise, but rubbish is a big ecological problem. Maybe they can put 2/3 employees to assure the cleanliness of the beach

Excellent experience in Kota Kinabalu

The hotel resort is located on Mermaid Island, which is more than an hour's drive from Kota Kinabalu. It takes another 45 minutes to get off by speedboat. The hotel will provide free round-trip scheduled boat transfers throughout the journey. The hotel has a beautiful environment. There was a welcoming ceremony when we arrived. There was a lady at the front desk who could speak Chinese and introduced the hotel's arrangements and dining times in detail. The room was clean and tidy. Two activities were organized. One was to go to the other side of the island to watch the beautiful sunset. At 8 o'clock in the evening, we organized an adventure in the forest to find owls. The hotel has free three meals, all of which are very rich. Originally, we stayed for two days, but due to the typhoon weather, the hotel cancelled one day and only stayed for one day. It is worth staying and recommending to everyone.

Free round-trip scheduled boat transfer: Very convenient, you can pick up at the airport or Jesselton Pier. 1.5 hours drive + nearly 1 hour boat ride. There is no lunch at noon on the return trip, it is recommended to prepare some food and drinks. Free lunch\free dinner: Both are OK, although there are few varieties, but the hotel tries to change the dishes for every meal. It can't be compared with a five-star hotel, but it's okay to eat. It is still recommended to prepare some food and drinks to go to the island. Service: The hotel's service is very hard. There is an hour of snorkeling in the morning, and go to different places according to the weather. You can also experience the depth at your own expense. There is a sunset walk in the evening, and you can see the beautiful sunset. Both the waiter and the coach are very enthusiastic. Environment: It is still under construction, so it is inevitable that there will be noise, etc. But it is cost-effective. Highly recommended!

At 11:30 am, there is a free shuttle bus from Jeston Pier in Kota Kinabalu to JS K Pier. The journey is about an hour and a half. Have lunch at the pier, then take a 45-minute speedboat to Mermaid Island. After landing on the island, you can have free time. Then you can gather at 10 am the next day to go snorkeling. At 12 o'clock, check out and take a speedboat back to the pier to return to the city. The lunch at the pier on the first day was quite ordinary and full. The buffet breakfast and dinner on the island were OK. The samples were quite rich and the taste was also very good! The only drawback is that the sand on the beach is relatively coarse, and swimming is a bit painful. There are free glass boats and rowing boats to use, so you won't feel bored when you go snorkeling! Get up at five in the morning and go to the tail beach to watch the sunrise. The scenery is really beautiful (*^w^*) Also, the hotel is still under construction. It is estimated that it will be more perfect after it is completed. We booked a hotel for one night and felt a little rushed. If time can be arranged, it is better to book two consecutive nights, so that you can have more relaxing fun!

Facilities: Very complete, no need to switch plugs, very friendly Hygiene: The cabin is very clean and new.

Free round-trip scheduled boat transfer: Meet at Jesselton Pier at 11:00, take a bus for about 1 hour and 40 minutes to the hotel pier, have lunch at the hotel pier and take a 45-minute speedboat to the island. The hotel has a lot of activities. There are glass boats and kayaks on the beach, which can be used for free. Before sunset, we will organize bicycle rides to the other side of the island to watch the sunset. At night, we will organize everyone to explore the jungle at night to find owls. We also saw fireflies and bats on the way. Snorkeling was organized at 9 o'clock in the morning. The plan was to have two snorkeling spots, but because of the wind and waves that day, we only went to one.

Personally, I feel that it is quite cost-effective. I bought a package on Ctrip, which includes boat tickets, bus tickets, lunch, dinner, and breakfast. The only difference is that the time is a bit short. It would be better to stay for two nights. We only stayed for one night. Because the journey takes a long time, and there are many things to do in Mermaid Island. No lunch is provided after getting off the boat the next day, but you can buy lunch at the pier or bring some bread and biscuits, because it is still a two-hour drive to the Jesselton Pier in the city. I learned that there are some other activities at the pier, one is Floating Dream Island, which is similar to a sea amusement park where boys and girls rush forward, and the other is an air capsule hotel. My children are more interested in both, but there is no time, so I can only experience it next time. I recommend it to friends in need, see the picture.
