Tickets for the 2024 Glastonbury Festival finally go on sale today – two weeks after originally planned.

The first batch of tickets was originally set to go on sale on Thursday 2 November, but hours before they were supposed to go live organisers put out a statement on social media saying the date had been pushed back, and registration was reopened.

It is notoriously difficult to secure Glastonbury tickets – being successful normally requires a good deal of planning and a large slice of luck. More than 2.5 million people tried to get their hands on the 135,000 tickets on offer last year, according to National Broadband.

If you are lucky enough to get hold of them there are strict rules around selling them on. Here’s what you need to know.

Can you resell Glastonbury tickets?

All Glastonbury tickets are linked to a person’s name, registration number and postcode. They also have a picture of the individual on. This is so that tickets cannot be sold on.

The festival says: “All tickets for the festival are individually personalised to the named ticket holder and are strictly non-transferable. Security checks are carried out on arrival, and only the specified ticket holder will be admitted to the festival.”

If you buy a ticket and are no longer able to attend the festival, you can choose not to pay the remaining balance, minus the deposit, in the first week of April 2024.

These tickets will then be put into an official resale, allowing people who missed out on the initial batch to have one last shot.

When do Glastonbury 2024 tickets go on sale?

There are two main sales: The first is for tickets that include a coach travel package, while the second is for regular tickets without coach travel.

Note that if you buy a coach ticket you must travel on that coach, you cannot arrive at the festival separately.

Here are the new sale dates:

  • Coach ticket sale – Thursday 16 November at 6pm GMT
  • General admission sale – Sunday 19 November at 9am GMT

How much do tickets cost?

Tickets will cost £355 plus a £5 booking fee, of which a £75 deposit (plus the coach fare if booking a ticket and coach travel option) is payable upon booking. This is a £20 increase from the 2023 festival, and the deposit has also been upped by £25.

The rest of the balance is paid in the first week of April 2024.

How can you buy Glastonbury tickets?

Tickets will be exclusively sold at glastonbury.seetickets.com.

You must be registered in order to purchase a ticket in order to prevent touting. You can register online here.

If you do not have your registration number to hand, you can look it up by entering your email address here.

A limited number of people will be given access to the booking site at any one time. While you are waiting to access the booking site you will be kept on a holding page until there is a space on the site for you to start the booking process. The page will automatically refresh to look for space on the booking page every 20 seconds.

If the amount of traffic on the website is particularly high, you may see a reduced version of the See Tickets booking site, with a minimal version of the holding page. This does not mean the site has crashed. It means the site is serving the maximum number of people at the same time.

You can purchase up to six tickets in one transaction. You will need to enter each individual’s name, registration number and postcode to purchase them. You cannot change the people you book for after booking.

If you are booking a ticket and coach travel option, you will be asked to choose the departure town (and time for towns with multiple departures). It is only possible to book tickets from one departure town in a single transaction.

You will need a valid debit (UK only) or credit card with sufficient funds to cover your full transaction, and all the security information for that card.

Once you reach the payment page you will have five minutes to submit your payment information. The time remaining will be shown on the right hand side of your screen.

When is Glastonbury 2024?

Glastonbury 2024 will take place from 26-30 June.

No acts have yet been confirmed. They will be announced over the coming months.

Bruce Springsteen, Dua Lipa, Coldplay, Madonna, Dave and Pink are among the acts that have been rumoured for headline slots.
